Good managers, smart people, questionable executive decisions.

CRD was bought by State Street a number of years back. There's been changes, both good and bad. - The good is that there's more focus on building out practices and directors are more actively engaged with supporting teams and projects. - There's a LOT more communication from the CRD senior level, which is always much appreciated. - The old CRD culture of not speaking up due to fear of the sole owner firing people is eroding away. - There is recognition that burnout is occurring and steps are being taken.
Cons
The bad part of being acquired by State Street is the mountain of restrictions and bureaucracy associated with it. - The State Street and CRD IT integration is a nightmare to navigate and use. - State Street policies neuter what individual consultants can do -- especially compared to before. - State Street executives are passing down decisions that are essentially encouraging younger consultants to leave -- lack of pay, lack of communication, and not fulfilling promises that were given upon first hire.

A professional environment, easy to work people and have growth opportunities
Cons
The technologies are mostly outdated and in-house technologies are not well-documented.

Pros
Many smart, motivated people in the ranks. Good 401K match.
Cons
State Street introduced many inefficiencies into a lean, efficient organization. Bank rules, regulations, audits & red tape, time consuming compliance trainings for situations that are bank-specific that you won't ever come across on the software side. Poor internal systems that are difficult to access and use. Can't have any personal investments or do any trading unless you report them to State Street first, and then there are restrictions and holding periods. No visible HR "face" to help people out, it's an impersonal offshore ticketing system. High deductible health insurance, you pay out of pocket for any type of in-network specialists visits instead of a co-pay with a referral. Raises are not good and definitely don't keep up with inflation. Working 10-12 hour days is not unusual but PTO allotments and holidays off are reasonable.

Great workplace, poor growth opportunities
Mar 18, 2023 - Implementation Consultant in Burlington, MARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Truly flat org structure. Relaxed work environment as long as you keep your project going in the right direction
Cons
Management struggles at coming up with a serious growth path for employees. Firm lacks a culture of recording best practices. It’s like you are reinventing the wheel each time around and wasting time dealing with past mistakes again and again
