    Charles River Laboratories offer a strong benefit package (including medical, 401K match and perks). Direct supervisors are good to work for.

    Cons

    Overall employee moral can be low at times, negatively often times breeds negatively. Can be difficult to move up the ladder.

    Flexibility in schedule, fellow employees are awesome. You will learn a variety of techniques. take what you learn and go elsewhere.

    Cons

    upper management is awful, lots of work to do which overwhelms people easily.

    Pros

    Decent benefits, lots of overtime pay, interesting work. There are a lot of really nice people who work here, and its a great place to learn and develop.

    Cons

    Understaffed, disconnect between "front-line" employees and corporate. Lack of experienced supervisors, most of the people who work here are in their early twenties.

    Advice to Management

    Focus on bringing in talented, experienced individuals into supervisor positions. Promote based on quality of work, not length of time at the company.

    Pros

    You gain a lot of experience in multiple NIH contracts doing various jobs and duties. Great benefits as well.

    Cons

    Not a lot of room for growth, low salaries, you're just a number

    Advice to Management

    Treat your contractors as well as you treat your corporate workers.

    Great place to learn and grow, promote from within, decent benefits

    Cons

    Run very lean - prepare to work hard and put in a lot of overtime, pay should be higher for the demands put on the staff

    Decent benefits, various career opportunities, room for growth, challenging work, good work environment and nice people in the local office, some nice people in the corporate office

    Cons

    Pay does not align with skills/achievements, difficult to maintain a work/life balance, corporate structure is a barrier to process improvements, lack of communication, system challenges

    Advice to Management

    Listen to your lower level employees who work with the systems daily. Involve your most talented employees in implementations to ensure accuracy and allow them to help you. Give your employees the resources to succeed.
