I worked at Charles River Laboratories full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Strong strategic focus. Tough ride to come back from the 2008 market crash. Rising star. Reasonable performance for a highly competitive service industry. Great culture.

    Cons

Tough to be competitive on salaries with Pharma in a services business, particularly as markets recovered.

You get to know people from all departments, diverse, great environment.

    Cons

Pay isn't great and if ever you get a raise is 25 cents.

    Advice to Management

Educate employees on productivity, sigma, etc. The techs don't get the same chances as other departments. Value more your people, specially the techs that spend long hours at the animal rooms.
