I have been working at Charles River Laboratories (Less than a year)

    Pros

This position will be responsible for helping the company to evaluate and manage new regulatory requirements and customer expectations on chemical ingredients and contaminants. Assessing the impact of these on food safety and in supporting development and execution of related standards and policies.
Be productive and be responsible even if I am working from home.
    Good management.
    My co-workers are nice.
I've seen a lot of people be able to move up the ranks. Some people say there's nowhere to go, but I've seen persistence pay off. I do believe that they're interested in quality and not just making another buck.

    Cons

Most of the jobs can be pretty routine. There can be something nice about that, but it can get old. That the nature of the business working on the lab bench.
    Poor ranking system.

    Advice to Management

Green card translates to financial security for many, as it would confirm permanent residency in addition to work permit for the employee and family. I hope the management could offer more felxible plan for their employees to obtain green card.

I worked at Charles River Laboratories full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

work in a small group, fast and slow days even out the week. Mostly everyone there was very knowledgeable about the process and what they were trying to accomplish. Treated as an equal by management and my ideas were taken into account.

    Cons

They need to restructure how they charge customers. Too much free work even if we were still turning a large profit

    Advice to Management

work on the sales force and marketing. They give away too much free or greatly discounted work and they could easily sell our product without any incentives due to its need in the industry.
