I have been working at Charles Stanley full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Friendly people who want to do the right thing for clients and colleagues. There has been significant change over the past 4 years (since new CEO started).

    Cons

Pay is pretty average, clunky IT systems. Poor communication between some teams/areas.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work – we are heading in the right direction. Please recognise those of us who are trying to make Charles Stanley an even better company.

I worked at Charles Stanley full-time for less than a year

    Pros

There are absolutely no pro's to working for Charles Stanley

    Cons

If you are considering working for Charles Stanley, bare the following in mind: - The pay is way below the industry average - Non-senior staff are overworked - Staff are hired and fired rapidly, especially contractors - Lack of career progression opportunities - Lack of employee incentives - Bullying is very common practice, particularly from senior staff - Expectations from senior management... are very unrealistic - Senior staff have minimal engagement with non-senior staff - The IT systems, compliance and processes are very dated - Senior HR Business management have a track record of not investigating grievances and terminating staff who are medically signed off I would avoid Charles Stanley and look on the market for more reputable wealth management firms.

I have been working at Charles Stanley full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good friendly enviornment, managment have started to listen to staff afetr years of staff neglect.

    Cons

Pay is really poor, they would rather you leave the company then pay you market rate. This seems counter productive as they would then have to go out and employ staff for market rate.

I worked at Charles Stanley full-time for more than a year

    Pros

-benefits -7 h +1h lunch break -some colleagues are fun and nice being around

    Cons

-everyone complaining about pay grade -overtime, everyone is running from it as they do not get incentives for it, as salary is low and overtime is calculated based on that -management takes decisions without knowing anything about what is happening, at lower levels -huge disconnection between departments -investment managers have to be reminded by management to behave nice to other employees -yearly bonuses... and raises around the 2% mark -company core values and mission statement were created just for face value (mission statement seemed more like a 3 year plan, actually referring to 2020) -noone cares about you, especially your line managers. Will leave you under the buss, hopefully not being the ones that threw you there.

I have been working at Charles Stanley

    Pros

Nice, friendly colleagues Undemanding hours - great if you have kids Good reputation in the market and with clients

    Cons

Lack of progression opportunities. Particularly for younger staff...Deadman's shoes mentality. Pay is well below the market except for those with a large book of clients Bonus system insufficiently funded and gives minimal recognition to team/individual contribution Losing lots of good quality people as a result

    Advice to Management

Could be a great business but structural issues need to be fixed. Lack of performance based pay is primary issue to sort
