I worked at Charming Charlie (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great team atmosphere. They really work hard at making everyone feel accepted and included.

    Cons

Salary is beneath market value. Heavy turnover in IT leadership has lead to a lack of maturity in the organization and conflicting goals.

    Advice to Management

Take a step back from fighting the fires and focus on maturing the organization by hiring good people and paying them market value so this company is not just a stepping stone.

    Pros

Very comfortable work environment with great people with room for growth if you put in the time and work.

    Cons

Very political and show a lot of favoritism while being very slow to make changes or consider suggestions for process improvement.

    Pros

None.....cheep stuff and a lot of it. If you like disposable product, I guess that would be a positive.

    Cons

Work load is crazy since everything is door to floor. They expect you to dress her head to toe and give her a high $$$ experience with no hours.

    Advice to Management

Decide who you are....are you clothingor accessories. Don't mislead people about benefits to get them to sign on. They have no paid holidays

    Pros

Enthusiastic, trendy, fun place to work! Stores are nicely organized. The associate crew is small enough to actually get to know and befriend your co-workers. Very diverse clientele.

    Cons

The pay is not great--but, then again, it isn't hard work!

    Advice to Management

Follow company policies whole-heartedly. Train Charmers to do so as well… Lead by example. Allow the Charmers to have fun and enjoy the challenge of meeting the needs of each individual guests--do not brow-beat them about the numbers…that is your job! (;-)

    Pros

Opportunity to learn many aspects of the business outside the scope of your role.

    Cons

The company is not focused on people. Like many other reviews, the lack of care and concern for people is apparent. 401K, incentives, merits, deferred compensation, etc have been taken away. The overall work conditions are sub-par. Such high turn over at ALL levels has left the company operational unsound. Disappointing for what was once a promising brand.

    Advice to Management

When you say you want to listen to your people then ask questions, listen and act. Realize that the pride is lost from your brand. Most are unhappy and desperate to get out. If you want to be a brand you need to make some drastic changes. Start with building a culture where people are proud to be a part.

I worked at Charming Charlie full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Lots of amazing talent, which is why it's so sad to see such high turnover because of poor management.

    Cons

Employees are over worked (constantly having to work nights and weekends). Business partners are not help accountable for their actions. Leadership has no idea what their employees are working on because they do not have regular touch bases or climate checks. They do not value their employee's contributions.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to your people. Invest time in developing and training. Listen to their career goals.
