I have been working at Chart Industries full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    good co-workers, decent 401k match,

    Cons

Company is dysfunctional, lack communication, planning, vision, terrible customer focus. Very disappointed. business has plummeted year after year since Chart acquired the company. Management fails to learn from their mistakes. .

    Advice to Management

Learn from your mistakes and change your attitude toward customer service. Either that or sell your BioMed division to someone that can better manage the business and focus on the customer's need and service quality.

I worked at Chart Industries full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great Pay and good benefits.
    The job itself was decent.
    Good safety percautions.
Overtime all the time when busy.
    Good equipment and tools.

    Cons

Constant rumors and speculation of lay offs
Zero communication between management and employees, 5 days before a layoff I was kept on temporarily, had new job lined up.
One product, so boom or bust.
Area businesses dont want to hire you because they know you will go back when called back.

    Advice to Management

Somehow fix this crazy layoff roller coaster. Recruited to move half way across state and told 5 years work..2.5 years later on the street.

    Pros

The people that are the rank and file are great people.

    Cons

Management. They seem to hire management who are not educated but fit the good ole boy profile. Fraud and double standards are the act of the day. And I am not kidding about the fraud. Someday the house of cards will collapse and a number of management will be taken off in handcuffs. Unless the arresting officer is a good ole boy.

    Advice to Management

I tried to report the fraud by looking up on the company's email address the financial auditor. Guess, what there isn't one. The people that need the ethics training are in the front office not the rank and file employees. Clean the thieves out of the company is my recommendation.

I have been working at Chart Industries (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great people in low-level positions. Good benefits, great paid holidays and vacation time.

    Cons

Poor communication from management. Unwillingness to change - too much "but that's the way we've always done it". Not a lot of women in upper-level positions.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the spineless "yes men" who are only there because they know somebody. Bring in new blood and actually listen to their ideas and implement their changes.
