    Pros

Good Products and A Great Industry

    Cons

Only a few select people in top positions know the real details of the business. Pay may be fair, and the work environment encouraging, but unless you are one of the trusted individuals in the old boys club your days are basically numbered the moment you accept any position. If you do not play ball according to the old boys rules, and make any attempt to make a positive contribution, you will be eliminated quickly. During my time at Chart I witnesses several key people, who held significant knowledge of the products and industry, terminated for suggesting design changes to address inherent engineering concerns with current manufactured products. This started a domino effect, which resulted in key personnel either leaving or being terminated. Chart struggles today due to these types of business practices, and from miscalculating the impact LNG would have on the world energy stage. Top personnel did not listen to the advice of many experts and plowed forward blindly. As a result, Chart has, and continues to layoff personnel and close operations. They have proven that a good product in a great industry does not always equal success, it takes honest, hard working, dedicated and intelligent people to succeed.

    Advice to Management

Take a good long close look at your top management, most are not who you think they are.

    Pros

    Decent 401K and potential bonus

    Cons

Middle and senior management has made MANY bad decisions that have cost 100's of people their jobs while they maintain theirs. Employees that were experts in their field have been replaced by those who say they are experts.

    Advice to Management

Review middle management decisions closer to see what is really going on. Should have valued the employees that were TRUE experts in their field.

    Advice to Management

Learn from your mistakes and change your attitude toward customer service. Either that or sell your BioMed division to someone that can better manage the business and focus on the customer's need and service quality.

Zero communication between management and employees, 5 days before a layoff I was kept on temporarily, had new job lined up.
