    Pros

Great benefits and great hours. On site school for welders that show initiative.

    Cons

I would still be working there if it weren't for a lay off that was beyond the company's control.

    Pros

Great Salary. Decent benefits. 9/80 schedule allows for flexibility and family time. Co-workers and project teams are great.

    Cons

Very market driven, and prone to highs and lows for work. Small office structure with little room for advancement in the project support groups.

I worked at Chart Industries full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Most people want to do a good job. Product development is good, manufacturing equipment is excellent. Process control is above average. Chart tries to build comraderie through lunches and off-site events.

    Cons

Management is afraid of the union. Lasting changes are impossible when crybaby floor employees get their way. Supervisors shield poor performing employees because their superiors won't support them. Management is secretive if you're not on the "inside".

    Advice to Management

Get some stones and cut the dead wood. Get onto the floor and care about people more. Doing things in secret won't get people to buy into your ideas.

I worked at Chart Industries (More than 5 years)

    Pros

At this time I don't have any upside to the comany

    Cons

Communication has really changed to none, Changing the work scope which includes higher spec, higher cost, however no concerns for quality or customer. Nitch in market was a quality cooler for an exceptional price, this is no longer the case. Management lies to customers on code issues, employees are not treated as part of the team. This is unfortunate for this company under different management was a good company for both clients and employees.
I would not recommend to a job seeker and for sure not as a client

    Advice to Management

Understand were you stand in the market and what you did well. Base decisions on facts not smoke screens. Treat customers well and give them their requirements and do not falsify what they are getting.
