I worked at Charter Communications full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great people, great benefits, Flexible hours, Great product at a good price. Given 500 leads of address that do not have service in a different area of town each month.

    Cons

Required to knock doors for 6 hours a day, Required to make contact, determine benefits of switching to Spectrum and have triple play installed all within 30 days or commission is reduced over 50%.
If you get a good area and work smart to catch the customer at home you can make 23 sales of the 500 leads which earns over $70,000 but most only make 12-15 sales and earn about $30,000 with salary and commissions. Usually need to work till 8:00 or 9:00PM to make necessary contacts before going home.

    Advice to Management

Allow some sales to be made outside of territory and allow full commissions for at least 5 carry over customers for 60 days so customers who must pay before scheduling the install have more time to pay amount due.

I worked at Charter Communications full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Motivated employees will continue to grow, and (natural) high turnover allows for promotions. Learning customer service is an essential skill and Charter values consumer feedback more than most

    Cons

Hourly pay corporate jobs often do not have room for employee creativity

    Advice to Management

Invest in a Senior-Citizen program. Educating the hugely increasing 65+ age group is better than convincing teenagers they need to spend $90/month for cable and internet. It'll help achieve faster phone calls.

I worked at Charter Communications (More than 10 years)

    Pros

free services (but dont let them trap you with it)

    Cons

Corporate Management is out of touch with the rest of the company . I was apart of TWC and was forced to work under the new "spectrum" label . TWC was not good but charter is the handy work of the devil . No time for family . Charter thinks they own your soul . Dont let them sucker you in with the free cable , you will learn to hate it .

    Advice to Management

Get someone to do do an undercover boss episode to see how bad you treat front line employees and the toll it takes on their families .

    Pros

Have a have a very thick skin because some customers will have you wanting to rip off your head half way into the call with them.
