I worked at Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services full-time for more than 6 years

      Pros

Good people. You'll meet people from all walks of life. Learning is encouraged and in fact most often you'll have paid days where you learn to do new things. Flexible hours.

      Cons

There is a slow climb to reach decent pay especially for students. Also very strict policies in some respects.

I worked at Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services part-time for more than a year

      Pros

Friendly staff is about all that was enjoyable at Chartwells. Unfortunately, this friendliness wasn't ever enough to overcome the feeling that you're wasting your time for a paycheck.

      Cons

Long hours, dangerous work environments, and indifferent management make the days feel endless and the following day dreadful.

      Advice to Management

Take an interest in your employee's well-being. The exhaustingly long days and dangerous work environments are hard enough without the feeling that it will never improve.

I worked at Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services part-time for more than a year

      Pros

-Great Food -Friendly staff -Meet lots of people

      Cons

My manager was very lazy. She had little experience and seemed to care less about learning how some of the equipment should be used properly. You are constantly on your feet on tile floors. Get ready to pull your weight plus some employee's weight.

      Advice to Management

Take a good look at your managers and ensure that they fit the job. They should care about Chartwells as much as they do themselves.
