I worked at Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services part-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Nice employees but questionable management

    Cons

No training, low pay, extreme nepotism with unlimited overtime but not for anyone else, false job description( more work than normal, added on duties daily, traveling all over the metroplex)

    Advice to Management

Don't show favoritism to family and friends by handing out unlimited overtime but giving 20 hours or less to everyone else. Employees have to get a second job because of nepotism.

I have been working at Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services part-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Pretty hard to get fired. They understand you are a student and that school comes first. Fun friendly workforce makes work enjoyable.

    Cons

Low pay and small raises. Because it is located on a college campus can be very busy and stressful at times.

    Advice to Management

Don't wait so long to fire bad employees. Don't nitpick your good employees because you know they won't start trouble with you.

I worked at Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Free meals in the dining halls, chefs were awesome to work with.

    Cons

Low pay rate for a position that required an abundance of experience. College degree made no bearing on pay rate until I was ready to quit and received a 1.50 raise which still didn't put me in the position to make a decent living. The kitchen and dining hall staff were paid even less. I worked at a university campus. The student workers hired on got more an hour than adult men...

    Advice to Management

Appreciate staff, don't lowball them and offer college kids living in the dorms a better wage. Understand frustrations from supervisors. Know when someone is over qualified for something and don't hire them on for a job anyone could do.
