Upper management changes have impacted an entire market. BM turn over at an all time high

I worked at Chase full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Excellent benefits. Plenty of PTO. Decent pay.

    Cons

My position was cut because they’re outsourcing jobs to the Philippines to save money (never mind that these new employees are not actually qualified and that the company bleeds money over incredibly stupid things like buying $1000+ video phones for 500+ people who never even make phone calls, moving employees’ desks several times per year which costs hundreds of dollars per move, etc). Upper management has no idea... what they’re doing and are severely out-of-touch with the employees and processes they oversee. Too often, they roll out major changes that never seem to be adequately thought out, which is stressful to deal with. Half of the time, employees are left to scramble to find solutions to problems management creates. No upward mobility even for people who are driven, creative, and/or talented.

    Pros

Has good structure and great outlook.

    Cons

New upper management making too many changes and reversing decisions.

    Advice to Management

Don't try to reinvent the wheel.

    I worked at Chase

    Pros

The benefits were a huge pro

    Cons

    Upper management should re-evaluate priorities

    Advice to Management

There shouldn’t be favoritism within employees but if so let it be those who work hard for the company.

I have been working at Chase full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Benefits & work/life balance

    Cons

If you don’t kiss butt, you won’t get anywhere in this company. Most of their depts close, and they will attempt to put their employees on write ups with false information to prevent them having to pay for unemployment or providing a service package. Managers are scared of upper management and never protect their representatives. Their turn around on employees is crazy.

I have been working at Chase full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Lots of Opportunity Great People Locally

    Cons

Upper Management Doesn't Know what they want-Complete 180 changes in pricing from one season to another. Completely laid off an entire state as decided to divert their banks to consumer direct. Technology is worst in the industry-DOS base system recently implemented Mystery shops that try to trick you into failing, one miss (failed disclosure, didn't quote the APR of the 7th rate you quoted, discouraged... customer from applying by saying a current bankruptcy would disqualify them) puts your position with the company in jeopardy and you on a performance improvement plan.

    Advice to Management

Find someone from a successful mortgage company to run the mortgage division. Teach correct compliance and don't try to trick your people into getting fired. Kills morale of good, solid people who do the right thing every time. Utilize your advantage in the mortgage industry which is your existing brick and mortar branches. Other companies would kill to have people in those branches and instead of utilizing... them you try to centralize your people? If managed correctly your branches would make you a mortgage powerhouse yet you reduce your footprint by trying to centralize sales.

I worked at Chase full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    Great Benefits. Great Pay.

    Cons

I worked for Chase for 14 years and brought in over $150 Million in investment relationships. The treatment by upper management to their employees is disturbing. The culture and sales pushing to reach goals have become ridiculous. The customer service has gone by the wayside as they push customers to go electronic only. They are beginning to cut staff to save money or to make even more money.

    Advice to Management

Please treat you employees with the respect that we treat the company. I gave my life to Chase for over 14 years and in the end...they treated me like ----!
