    Cons

I really can not think of any.

    Advice to Management

Continue to seek input from those that you employ.

    Pros

Great benefits and will work with your availability. The residents are amazing and treat you like family.

    Cons

A lot of in house politics. They don't value you.

    Advice to Management

When you have an employee who has shown exceptional service to the company (4 years) and they have issues with bullying don't lose your employee over it, try and help them through it.

    Pros

Lovely residents. Caregivers are wonderful, caring people. My executive director was wonderful but she was constantly fighting upper management. Loved my memory care nurse.

    Cons

Upper management takes an autocratic approach to leadership demonstrating outdated approach to team leading and creating resentment among staff.
"My way or the highway" approach stifles growth in any company. There is no room for collaboration! You cannot be a good leader if you do not have followers! A complete turnover of nursing managers, executive director, and marketing team should be a red flag to the owner but this all seems lost on him! After all if your own family won't work for you any longer there most certainly is something wrong with your approach to people!!!

    Advice to Management

    Take leadership classes !

    Pros

There are a really fantastic group of residents living in this community and many of the frontline staff are hard-working people dedicated to providing great care to these seniors.

    Cons

The upper management of this company consists of inexperienced sycophants. There is a lot of talk about fostering a culture of collaboration and engagement. Sadly, it is nothing more than talk. In reality, decisions are made from above and shoved down to employees. There is absolutely no growth opportunity in this company if you are an ambitious employee; and hard work and innovation is not recognized unless you are willing to kowtow to the autocracy. In this industry, there are so many better options for employees ...

    Advice to Management

Put the management of this company in someone else's hands. The residents and staff deserve better.

"Kiss Up, Kick Down Culture in Action!"

    Pros

At this organization you can view, in person, a textbook example of kiss up, kick down management at work.

    Here's where you can witness:

Mistakes being covered up and blamed on underlings.
A bully keeping targets under stress.
That the bully's power arises from fear, not respect.
Those that speak up are told they are unhappy or have “poor attitudes” and “character flaws” and then shoved out the door.

As a bonus you can see the Peter principle in action!

Quite honestly some of the facilities are not that bad, but the home office is dreadful.

    Cons

You never know who the bully will target next.

I have been working at Chateau Retirement Communities full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The Residents are a lot of fun.
The newer rooms are very nice
    Two pools

    Cons

Way too much nepotism in management which results in a very narrow viewpoint on how to operate a care facility. Too much favoritism. Corporate managers stuck in their ways and untrustworthy. I have been a care worker in both memory care facilities and assisted living. This one could provide better training and overall management.

    Advice to Management

Don't hire friends or family members as managers. Be more innovative and trust the opinions of others.
Mr. Godfrey should also be a more visible CEO to his employees.
