    Pros

Pay is OK. Benefits are good. Very few opportunities for growth. Since the company HQ is in Tel Aviv, you get to (or have to) fly out there at least once.

    Cons

Worst culture you can imagine with very few upsides, no potential for any real growth, and frequent employee turnover... many new employees run away in the first 6 months. From a Silicon Valley culture perspective, Check Point is a "wannabe." With HQ half-way around the world and a very different culture in Israel, it makes Check Point a strange and extremely unproductive mash-up of dictatorship and socialism.

    Advice to Management

Top to bottom re-org. CEO needs to step-down and take a board seat. The CEO is also the founding engineer for Check Point 20+ years ago and is not fit to run a publicly traded company of its size. Having a company "President" in place to make all key decisions is not a viable solution.

    Pros

Great team work, great leader in charge , great technology behind the product , great opportunity for travel ,

    Cons

Theres not much. Every work place will over work engineers. This place doesn't. If all depends how you manage your work load. Your outcome depends how much you out in. Compensation could be better. Other jobs pay more but doesn't mean it's not a good place to be.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what your doing.

I worked at Check Point Software Technologies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Benefits were great.
Employees were wonderful and there is a lot of talent within the organization.
    Excellent products and numerous accolades.
No micromanagement, freedom to do what you needed to in order to be successful.

    Cons

No money or resources was spent on marketing efforts. Many people still do not know the Check Point brand name or they think it is still too expensive, focused only on the Enterprise space.
Very difficult to get funding to spend on events or partner activities.
They made some not so great changes to the deal registration program margins.
Not staying competitive in the marketplace.

    Advice to Management

Unfortunately, you have to spend money to make money.

    Pros

Great people, great technology, great vision and the company is a de facto thought leader in information security. Upper management seems to really care about their people

    Cons

    Horrible marketing
No ability to keep a good CMO long term
Not enough field reps and SE's to grow business
    No local marketing budget

    Advice to Management

Hire (and keep) a world class CMO and then give them the budget to create demand

    Pros

Free training, tons of room for advancement, overtime, great employee's, good benefits. I personally started with an extremely low salary, but I worked extremely hard, put in long hours, never said no to any potential engagement and 3 years later I'm making $150k+ for another company, but in the same line of work. The point here is to separate yourself from others, prove you want it more, Check Point is a great stepping stone to more lucrative possibilities down the road if you just put forth effort!

    Cons

Morale can be somewhat low at times, salary is below average, overworked

    Advice to Management

Focus on managers that know how to lead and also lead by example. I personally had great management, but I understand that's not always the case.

    Pros

Positive work environment, accepting new ideas and initiatives, a lot of opportunities to grow and develop within the company

    Cons

Salary might be lower than other competitive companies, but gives you a great opportunity to start and other compensation bonuses that make up for the gap

    Pros

significant self-direction. talented, friendly colleagues. generous perks. best-in-class product line. real opportunities to influence the improvement of security infrastructure for Fortune 100 companies. training offered somewhat regularly.

    Cons

fragile internal support tooling exacerbates effort needed to accomplish trivial account management functions. work overload often forces engineers into a reactive posture, constraining ability to plan ahead. customers with lower ability levels or overly ambitious objectives tend to abuse engineers for staff augmentation outside contractual scope of support. limited opportunities for career growth outside management or sales.

    Advice to Management

consider imposing adequate structure to erect boundaries against work overload, such as establishing rotations where engineers trade days deflecting support incidents to allow peers uninterrupted focus on long-term project work or difficult problem replications.

I have been working at Check Point Software Technologies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Check point has a great work environment. The managers, and senior technicians are very helpful and technical. There is no micromanaging and managers are very trusting.

There are training, and opportunities to grow and learn more of the product.

    Free lunch, quarterly dinners.
    Great health insurance.

CP TAC is a great place to get your foot in the door. They hire new people to the industry, and it's a good for learning networking and security.

    Cons

Every little thing is micro managed by the CEO and those close to him. This gives managers no room for autonomy.

If you work hard, you will be used.

The pay is nominal compared to the stress in day to day activities, not even mentioning what your market value is after 24 months.

Check Point is cheap. You have to fight the higher ups to get devices and equipment to do your job. Considering how much Check Point makes, the fraction that goes into retaining employees and building better infrastructure for us to do our jobs in nominal if non existent.

    Advice to Management

Compensate your employees better and give your lower level managers more autonomy.

    Pros

They buy you lunch, and every five years or so give you a week's paid vacation somewhere nice.

    Cons

Technically almost clueless. Flagrant violations of Brooks Law lead to frequent death marches. Management is also morally impaired. I had an accident and got 30K from the insurance, which was less than what the accident costs me, Check Point wanted to keep 27K to pay for the medical expenses its health coverage had to pay. I had to spend thousand in lawyers to negotiate the figure down to 9K, which they took, regardless. That is after I paid thousand in health insurance premiums. Yes, there is a federal law that allows them to do that. That happened after the CEO can't stop boasting that Check Point has 3 billions cash in the bank, when he speaks. Every time a customer hired an outside penetration tester to test the defenses Check Point provides it failed embarrassingly. The company has no technical standards so anything goes. Cryptic code, too many languages, no uniformity. Not good.

    Advice to Management

    Get a heart.

    Pros

A great place to get corporate experience and you get to experience traveling to various offices all over the world.

    Cons

Not the most friendly environment, you would expect everyone to be outgoing and welcoming, but most individuals are to themselves.
