    Pros

There's a lot of camaraderie and support for each other here. People step in to help you out. The work itself is incredibly interesting and constantly changing. So if you like an environment of new and exciting areas to work on, it's great here. The marketing organization is really rejuvenated since we brought on a new CMO. The work environment is great - lots of group outings, always free lunch, breakfasts on Fridays. You also get to work with some of the brightest and smartest people.

    Cons

The company has a culture that strives for excellence so you often have to iterate on the work till you get to that level. The HQ is in Israel so sometimes the hour difference calls for early morning or late night calls. It's a very value driven company for any expense which creates many processes when it involves spending with external vendors. If you don't watch it, you are bound to gain the Check Point 10 pounds!

    Advice to Management

Listen a bit more to the ideas. Be ready to try some things even if you aren't guaranteed that they will work.

Free lunch which is great, and if you are interested in the IT industry this is a good place to get initial training.

    Cons

Company does not pay well for any position. Managers don’t care about their employees but only their success. It is very hard to grow in company as a lot of higher up positions are given to a friend, uncle or sibling. Unless you work in the California or New York office don’t expect to be taken seriously. Managers in the Irving office tend to do whatever without consequence as their managers are not even in the same state. They set high expectations for their employees but don’t follow or meet them themselves.

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention to what your employees are saying instead of what your tenured managers claim to say. The Irving office culture and environment is hostile.

    Pros

Free lunch Flexible work hours Staff outings Opportunity to visit Israel

    Cons

Aggressive management style Co-workers will steal your lunch (if you don't pick it up in time) Questionable business practices

    Advice to Management

This company has great potential - when upper management eventually realizes they don't have to be involve in every single decision. This is an Israeli company that wants to have a bigger presence in the U.S. At the same time, they do not allow a single American executive to make decisions. Until that happens, the company will continue to function the way it does (which is aggressive, beyond ethics and defying conventional wisdom). The pay is very good (as are the benefits) because deep down, they know they need to overpay employees to lure them there. Genuinely speaking, this is a great job if you are ok with paper pushing and relinquishing every creative part in your brain. But if you are looking to take initiative and pitch your own ideas, be ready to face rejection time and time again. Disappointing too because, as stated above, there is so much potential for this company. But it will continue to shoot themselves in the foot if nothing changes.

    Pros

Nice people to work with, initiative is somewhat rewarded, company events are great, free lunch, travel opportunities.

    Cons

Had a bad experience with management and HR. I was informed about something, but in the end it didn't push through. The company also seems to be mired with some dirty office politics.

    Pros

Everyone at Check Point is great to work with, they are there because they care (-the managers). Product had been a leader in the security field but is falling behind quickly. OH, and free lunch if you keep it under $8.00

    Cons

PAM is taking Check Points market away quickly. Check Point does not want to spend marketing dollars and is out of touch with the market and comp. Checkpoint marketing plan is to give away a 15cent laptop camera cover. All marketing budgets has been cut. $000 current marketing budge cut by 30% = WHAT? Check Point has managers that became managers at Check Point or that came to the company after failing at the company they left. Check Point first cut home internet for remote home offices and has not cut cell phone expense for the sales team.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees like the valuable product they are Learn that if you don't want to market with the big boys, don't wonder why market share continues it's down hill slide. Stop bringing in managers that couldn't manage at the place they just failed at. Take a little of that money you have in the bank and invest in the company. Not just the CEO's personal bank account.

    Pros

-Free lunches (but they aren't too good) -Personal desk space

    Cons

Its an easy job but it can get depressing knowing that you will never get promoted and even if you do you will not get the pay you deserve. Everyone in the US offices have an average age of 50 - so it is not a young atmosphere at all and a poor place to start a fast past and relevant career.

    Advice to Management

try to build a culture, and challenge all employees to learn new things. Have more community events, and team builders, and all hands events. Everyone here is miserable and jokes about leaving but they are too old to actually find another job.

    Pros

-Good Stepping stone for an individual to get into this field in technology and network security -Good Benefits: Medical, Dental, 401k matching up to 5%, Free Lunch up to $8.50 -Easy to take time off which is great for work/life balance

    Cons

-No structure within the department and no guidance by upper management -Upper Management plays huge politics and favoritism -When you're hired for the job, they talk about commission and how you can get bonuses yet there is no commission plan until months after you start your role. The problem with this situation is that representatives do not even know what their target goals are which can cause anxiety and stress on all levels. -Headquarters for commissions analysts are in Israel so whenever you have a question about commission, it takes days, sometimes even weeks to get 1 reply. They are always questioning good leads and deals that come from Inside Sales because they do not believe they generated it. They are so fast to question a great sale this department can have yet so slow in responding when they actually have to pay out commission -Employee feedback and concerns are not addressed -There is a lack of training and tools for New Hires to do their job successfully

    Advice to Management

-Invest in your employees and maybe there will be a less churn rate for people leaving to competitors -Train upper management to have more empathy towards their employees and to be a leader for the company -Have an in office commission analyst in the San Carlos office for employees to address issues with the system or if they have questions regarding their payout

    Pros

Free lunch up to $8.50 Free snacks Weekends off Some travel--SKO, regionals etc. Good entry to the technology corporate world

    Cons

Well....where do I start? If you want to be degraded and disrespected and feel like you have no value, join the inside sales team. Most of the field you are countered part with will see you as their admin and expect you to do all their net new work and when they don't meet their numbers, the blame is on you. (Luckily I had a few good field reps.) There is absolutely no structure what so ever, if you have a question on something you will get a "I don't know" and then be forced to find the answer yourself. Training program for new hires?....totally unorganized and irrelevant to the role. No moral or work ethic, people come and go as they please or while they are there, it's not work. No motivation from the team to grow and promote or even do better in your current role. When it comes to pay, you get paid less than what other companies offer. Not to mention there's no way to track how you get paid commission and what you are getting paid on. Everything is a mess and there's no clear answer on anything. When you ask, people will say "welcome to Check Point" how sad of an excuse. On top of that, when the new year starts you'd expect to have your numbers/goals. Not here. Expect to see that in June and then still be expected to reach that above and beyond 100%. As far as a prospecting tool.....didn't have one. Was told to google and LinkedIn prospects. What a joke. A prime example of how cheap this company is. No one is ever on the same page and this company is a hot mess. Surprised people have lasted longer than a few months here. As if I didn't give you enough reasons to not work here.....One of the team "leads" is not only uneducated but also is not able to be trusted. Prime example of where you can go by kissing butt so if that's your style go for it!

    Advice to Management

Stop being so cheap. Have things set and ready when the year starts or lower your expectations. Get it together.

    Pros

Good for people trying to get experience. Get to know people from around the world. Somewhat of a "free lunch". After making it a Check Point you can make it anywhere. They do know about security which is a good thing to know. HR people are good, especially the director.

    Cons

Hard work, lot's of pressure. They catch people doing things wrong. 30% attrition rate a year.

    Advice to Management

I think they make it so they have a lot of churn, they want to always have a young, fresh company. The model works well in Israel, but I don't think it works in the US. Maybe if you caught people doing things right. Give people good titles so that when they leave they can get better jobs.
