I worked at Check 'n Go full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Set schedule, nice co-workers, provide training, good benefits within the company.

    Cons

Work will seem ok at first but you'll soon realize that you'll just be calling customers 3 times a day while getting cursed out and the company cares more about making money than helping customers. They are supposed to be helping customers during hard times but really they just reinforce the cycle of debt. Turnover rate is high, and upper and corporate management are all confused and have no idea how hings really run in stores.

    Advice to Management

Communicate with store employees effectively instead of barking orders.

I worked at Check 'n Go full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pay was decent, bonuses available but difficult to get.

    Cons

Worked 6 days a week with no help. Threatened by my Supervisor when I had to go to the hospital.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees like humans, not slaves. If we don't succeed, you don't have a job.

I have been working at Check 'n Go full-time

    Pros

Not bad pay. Like the customers! This job will make my resume look better!

    Cons

Work alone most of the time.
Constantly getting hours cut for the store that is performing very well.
Boss only likes you if you are making him look good.
Company constantly adding more things needed to do per loan but cutting payroll.
They continue to add to your workload but send nasty emails if you are 5 hrs over in an 80 hr period. - which by the way they pay like 6.00 an hr per hr of OT. So Quit complaining!

Lots of praise when you are doing good.

Very next week boss is all over you for stupid things.
    Long hours especially for management.

They want you to "Run YOUR Business" but micromanage everything you do.

    Advice to Management

Don't let your DDOs treat the SMs like crap when they had a bad performance week.

    Don't MICROMANAGE US!

Stop worrying about the Almighty dollar and start worrying about Our safety by giving us more payroll hours for our CSRs!

I worked at Check 'n Go full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

the work schedule wasn't bad. you don't get off extremely late. you get sundays off. you will learn to do a lot of stuff/multi task. even with the low pay that I was getting (16.00 hr as a store manager), you can take the skills and your title and make your resume look good when looking for other jobs. having store manager on your resume will do you good in future jobs!

    Cons

the highest turnover rate ive ever experienced in any company, you will work an entire store by YOURSELF! if your full time and want a day off good luck! with the high turnover rate and lack of employees, you will have to find someone to cover your shift (not easy to do). extremely stressful job esp if you work alone. the pay isn't worth all the things you will be doing BUT you can use this job as a stepping stone to get store manager experience under your belt and move on elsewhere like I did. management not supportive. if you have a question they will brush you off and will have you call another store for the answer. yet they always say "call me if you need anything". LOL! don't buy it.

    Advice to Management

appreciate those who work for you day in and day out and really try to make the best with what they have! Training needs to be addressed and needs to be longer. management has GOT to be more approachable to its employees. were looking to you for leadership and guidance! if your busy that's fine, but brushing us off or having us call other stores will only damage the relationship. it doesn't help.

I worked at Check 'n Go part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent hours and days, builds customer relationships, flexible schedule, clerical experience, manager worked around school and internship schedule, slow at times.

    Cons

Very unorganized and inconsistent, LOW pay, constantly watched on DVR, no trust in employees, csr's do the same exact work as store managers, low raises, cheats out of bonuses, constantly micromanaged by DDO, very high turnover rate, minimum hours per store, dress code, demanding goals, required to do human directional which includes holding a sign on the corner by your store for x amount of minutes, GREED

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees with respect and they wouldn't hate their jobs. Stop being cheap and cutting hours at any time as if your employees don't have bills and what not.

    I worked at Check 'n Go full-time

    Pros

Hours and benefits are excellent as long as you have a fully staffed store.

    Cons

Must preform brutal hard sells on every customer that walks in the door to meet demanding goals. You will at most be allowed one or two employees to run a very busy business. You must find your own coverage to use any vacation or sick time. You will be personally responsible for things you neither have the tools or manpower to handle. Almost no opportunity for advancement as internal employees are rarely hired for openings. The business model seems to be set up for a high rate of turnover to keep labor cost down. Your days will be numbered as soon as you walk in the door.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees well and they will perform for you. Treat them like disposable pieces of trash and they will perform as such.

I worked at Check 'n Go full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Being able to help some people get a loan that they otherwise couldn't get at a bank, installment loans are better than payday but not much better

    Cons

If you do not get along with management they will try to break you down so much that you will quit. Management is not concerned about the welfare of their employees, they only care about results. If you do something that requires a write up, it takes months before any punishment is dealt with, that means they will bring things up months after the violation when you thought it had already been dealt with. This company gives loans out to anyone who is "qualified", this means we saw more defaulted loans than new loans every month (period). I saw more people hurt than helped by these loans, so many customers that shouldn't be approved for loans that they cannot or will not payback.

    Advice to Management

I have worked in enough jobs to see how incredibly flawed your management structure is and I am so much happier to be unemployed than working for a group of backstabbing, selfish managers!!!

    Pros

Flexible hours, customer interactions, ability to travel. Ability to bonus sometimes. Sometimes you'll get a good store manager but most of them don't know that they're doing.

    Cons

No benefits, no advancement, terrible raises, not enough hours. Sometimes you get punished for things you can't always control. Hard to sleep at night knowing how much of a disservice it is to customers in the long run
