I worked at Cheesecake Factory part-time

    Pros

Energetic environment, and a real sense of community amongst the staff. Actually pretty fun.

    Cons

Can be hectic and disorganized at times, and there are so many employees that it’s sometimes hard for managers to follow your work schedule.

I worked at Cheesecake Factory part-time

    Pros

-Money was consistent for the most part
-My location was well-staffed enough to where you could pick up extra shifts if you needed them or you could give away shifts and there would, oftentimes, be people willing to cover them
-Definitely all about teamwork, your coworkers or even managers usually have your back
    - I have never found since a coworker/family culture anywhere else like I did at ccf

    Cons

-My location just had some not-as-qualified people training new hires and over time, those poorly trained hires would go on to train new people, so on and so forth
    - If you expect to have holidays or weekends off ( I don't know why you would, that's common for a serving job), you won't have an easy time realizing that you won't.

I worked at Cheesecake Factory full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great positive environment. Lots of events, happenings, Wednesday treat, Friday bagels. Encouraging for employees. Fun place to work at. Most management is great. Very thoughtful bunch. Really not much to complain about.

    Cons

Retirement plan matching is very low at 2.5%. PTO also very average at 2 weeks. Expected hours are 8-6 for some people which is pretty long.

    Advice to Management

Re-evaluate benefits. We can retain more good employees.

I have been working at Cheesecake Factory part-time

    Pros

The management here is excellent and definitely trustworthy - I go to them for everything. The training is thorough. Work is extremely fast paced and not meant for slow workers. Must have a sense of urgency in everything you do. It helps to be an extrovert working here, as you are around hundreds of new people per shift all the time. The pay is alright (a little above minimum wage), and the hours are great. As a person, I’ve definitely been humbled here and have learned/builded upon several skills including conflict management, customer service, time management and organizational skills.

    Cons

Our location didn’t have any cleaners whatsoever, so hosts are expected to clean and maintain bathrooms, doors, take out trash, etc. There are many tasks to complete at once. This job is HIGH STRESS. Workers must be cautious of everything going on at all times. Occasionally co-workers here are snappy and have attitudes. Dealing with rude customers is a given. Finally, you’re never really off until the chaos calms down and mgmt says you’re free to go.

    Advice to Management

There should be more one-on-ones, or meetings with new staff to evaluate their performance and to voice concerns. Continue training new staff thoroughly and help them to move up in the company!
