I have been working at Cheesecake Factory part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It's a very difficult job (I work at the 2nd busiest Cheesecake in the USA), but because of this, bad employees don't survive but 2 weeks without quitting or being fired and this attributes to the building of an absolutely incredible staff by default. Most everyone I work with is kind-hearted and loyal to the company, as some have been working there many years.

    Cons

NO promotions from front desk and NOT enough money. Been working there a year and a half and still only a host. I knew one who was an amazing worker who was there for 3 years with no promotions. Also, hosts are not tipped out so we make minimum wage, serving thousands of people a week including parties of even 75 or more. Managers opt to hire outside of our store more servers/food runners specifically so they can stonewall good workers into front desk (as it is a very difficult, underpaid that no one wants to do).

    Advice to Management

Tip out fillers.... even a little bit.. the job is too hard to do for what we get paid, knowing that everyone else is making more money than us by as much as they are ($100+ per night). Good hosts don't get promoted because they're hard to come by and this drives them away making it harder for those who stayed to continue to do so. It's a viscous cycle that has really affected my store and colleagues. Deskruns and greets = not too hard to find and not too hard of a job, but fill is a real catch 22 that for what one gets paid, isn't worth the stress. Tipping out the fillers will encourage more people to want to stay in front desk and be more loyal to the company.

    Pros

Friendly staff, family atmosphere, definitely an opportunity to make good money for college students or as something on the side

    Cons

When the bussing team is not strong it makes for a really miserable job.

I worked at Cheesecake Factory full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

One of the best kitchens to work for if you want to stay with a company, and grow kitchen or customer service skills. Free meals and good benefits. Great people.

    Cons

Has competitive scheduling, so you will rather work very little hours or long days. Corporate company so you do have to suck up to people to move up and you will see how its pat my back i pat yours which inst always bad.

    Advice to Management

There are alot of moving parts in the place. Managers need to take move advice or hear out what the staff is saying. They have a great system which has worked for them for years across the world. But the staff is what makes it great. I think they need to pay more attention to what the staff thinks about changes and how the company is operating,
