    Pros

    Very challenging environment. Always something different and new to figure out.
    Nice people.
    Lots of freedom. no micromanagement if you stayed on top of your tasks.

    Cons

    Little direction from management on new products.
    Work / Life balance almost nonexsistant. Easily put in 60 hrs. Once had to come in on a hoilday to get something to a customer and it easily could have waited until after the break. Had to cancel a vacation last minute.
    Doesn't take any advice from the customer on how to improve the product.
    In the middle of nowhere.
    Doesn't replace people as they leave (promotions, quit, firings)
    Too many reorgs/layoffs. This caused real low morale.
    Production is rushed at the price of quality. Not enough time to properly test product to ensure it meets standards before going into final testing, which were often failed.

    Advice to Management

    Pay attention to input from the employees and use this input to make decisions. Slow down, think about it, and do it right the first time rather than failing seven times.

    I worked at Chemring Ordnance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Challenging and interesting work. Good pay for the remote location. Good IT support.

    Cons

    Closed group from small town in the middle of the woods. Pay is good to recruit talent but you'll have a challenge fitting in unless you went to high school there. They don't communicate expectations. Low moral and loyalty due to high turn over. HR is the worst excuse. Don't expect anything from that department other than a termination notice you won't see coming.

    Advice to Management

    Stop smiling and being nice when you don't mean it. Gives the South a bad name.
