Upper management needs to communicate better.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Good marketing and brand position. Good people to work with, relaxed environment for the most part.Nice office space.

    Cons

Poor management and accountability systems. Going though change with larger company purchase. Divided groups between Chemtool people and Lubrizol people. Overly bureaucratic systems. Lack of teamwork.

    Advice to Management

Need to communicate better and allow for people to solve problems differently than they would. Establish and educate staff better on expectations and milestones and then follow up on them better.

    Pros

Good benefits. Good working hours. Very clean facilities. All places are well maintained and have safety regulations in place.

    Cons

It is not for me to judge the Cons. For each person is different.

    Advice to Management

I think there needs to be more trust worthy managers.

    Pros

Not too much is good here. Depressing & dead end job. Not a good environment. Don't do it. Never appreciaTed or compensated.

    Cons

Horrible rude management. Blame games. No accountability. Pay is HORRIBLE!!! Miserable miserable place to work. Look into the faces of employees who have been there for more than 6 months & you will see the misery & pain. STAY AWAY RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN. This company will deflate & defeat you.

    Advice to Management

Take some classes & learn what being a manager means. Not strut around & blame employees. You are all the reason everything is in chaos & orders are late & customers are pulling business. You can BS Lubrizol & Warren Buffet..... But they too will catch on eventually

I have been working at Chemtool inc. (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Recently bought out by Lubrizol so the benefits became better.... Vacation, health, etc. Pay has also gotten better....and will continue to get better as long as they stick to doing regularly scheduled PCMs.

    Cons

Training is difficult to come by, you basically live and learn from your mistakes. No accountability for large mistakes. SOME Management speak down to the employees and are unprofessional. Seems as if CPI (a merged company also bought by Lubrizol) employees get the first shot at moving up, not the Chemtool employees/ Supervisors that have been at Chemtool for numerous years.

    Advice to Management

Hold employees accountable for their actions.

I worked at Chemtool inc. (More than a year)

    Pros

Improving basic business strategy, and regaining focus on core competencies. Along the same lines, the business is improving structure and making necessary changes. Pay is average, and the hours are consistent.

    Cons

Lack of communication throughout the organization. Lack of engagement with employees. Lack of customer focus, and guidance for individuals to align their work to the customer's needs.

    Advice to Management

Increase the amount of communication between levels. For the size of the company, information should be more fluid. Engage employees from all levels and encourage cooperation and teamwork; great ideas come from top and bottom. Improve customer focus, and ensure this is built into the culture.
