I worked at ChenMed full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I really loved it at Chenmed. I loved what they stood for, I loved the technology, and I loved my leadership team. Everyone cares about you as a person and your career. My visa didn’t allow me to stay there, but I hope I will be able to return some day. Most talented group of directors and senior management I’ve ever worked for.

    Cons

Was unable to stay because of my visa

    Pros

    Cons

VERY VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!! Management is erratic. No consistent message. Comp plan prohibits reps from making money. Sales is not valued. Sales has to jump through hoops to get a sale. Have no control over the sale. Favoritism. Clinic staff do not want to work with sales. Company has bad reputation in the market. Insurance partners have bad impression of Chenmed/JenCare. Constant turnover in the whole company...most people...

I have been working at ChenMed full-time for less than a year

    Pros

It is a breath of fresh air when you are working for a company that is compliant when it comes to following rules and regulations. Chen medical is a company that prides itself in being ethical and having high standards.

    Cons

They need to look for talent from within, use the same system as the military. Retain your best people and build them up.

    Advice to Management

I would love to see a system like Walmart where we promote from within. I would love to see a system where the current employees get the promotions before looking for talent outside the company.

    Pros

This is a wonderful company to work for! There is so much support from upper leadership to mentor and for growth from within the company. The best part about this job is you really get to do a wonderful thing for your community. Helping seniors get the healthcare they deserve to live their best quality life. I worked at ChenMed full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great benefits. always able to find overtime

    Cons

The family relationship went out the door as soon as they became a corporation. The hire people in position who do not have an idea as to what your job consist of. There is not growth with in the company. They would hire someone from the outside before they hire you. Everyone wants to be a chief no one wants to be an Indian. No consideration at all for pregnant woman from management.

    Advice to Management

Look to hire within before hiring outside. Its easy to fire someone but its hard to find a replacement. I dedicated 4 years of my life to this company and I was very passionate at what I did. I was prganant and trying to work and still grow membership. Then Bob (just using it as a name) cam along not knowing my history with the company and wanted me out the door,he did that. I am happy that i was happy to take my maternity...

    Pros

Nice folks and everyone works hard - engineers play Xbox one during the their breaks

    Cons

Senior management is clueless - recent CIO resigned so hopefully company will be better managed by new person. Still owned by Chen family and they should spend more time working with management to priority projects and establish a HR dept which they don't have. Go figure!

I worked at ChenMed full-time for more than a year

    Pros

free snacks? lots of joking around in the IT department?

    Cons

CTO/CIO is obsessed with windows products and all things microsoft. Company hires a chaplain to force prayers at formal gatherings and then fires all of our Java developers (good christian decision making) Good managers are frustrated and give up. terrible managers are promoted. Benefits department promises tuition assistance and then changes their mind.

    Advice to Management

Think about where you spend your money. Don't let a con artist take over a department where so many careers are on the line. just because someone talks a good game doesn't mean they know what they're doing.

IT development center is currently at a place where it doesn't look like a typical technology center but management has invested lot of money in developing a new IT center with fantastic facilities. In few days this would be a beautiful unbelievable office work place at a great location in Miami South Florida area.

    Advice to Management

CIO and leadership of the company are very smart, highly experienced and incredibly talented, with great technology vision and Goal. Leadership is committed to transform health care of the patients by bringing cutting edge technology applications and processes to the doctors, patients and health care staff. I worked at ChenMed full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The pay and benefits are good. The team is young and full of energy. There is a big market for medical and health care technology.

    Cons

The project managers micromanage, ask for progress reports several times a day, and will back-stab on performance review. There are a lot of technical choices that are made to cut costs rather than allow for scale-ability and performance.

    Advice to Management

Set more realistic goals for project timelines and make time to clean up technical debt.
