I have been working at ChenMed full-time for more than a year

    Pros

High expectations and the ability to grow and develop. You can make a career here. This company has the potential to be a giant in the health care industry in the next decade. I feel like I'm in at the ground floor of something that has the potential to be huge.

    Cons

High stress, work life balance can be hard at times.

I worked at ChenMed full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The employees are helpful and friendly.

    Cons

Where should I start? ChenMed held a contest last year, asking current employees to post on Glass Door in an effort to combat the negative reviews. Regrettably, most of the positive reviews were posted by staff trying to win a free trip to Miami. The Chen's have an impractical expectancy of what can be accomplished and run the company with little concern for anyone other than themselves. If you question or push...

I worked at ChenMed full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great co-workers willing to help you in your job! Good message and focus on healthcare for the elderly. Interesting IT projects and technologies to work on.

    Cons

This is to inform any candidate who is looking to join this company and wants to know what they’re signing up for….please do not make the same mistake I did. Let me start off by saying to please be very careful with some of these reviews, specifically the ones that were written in 2018. ChenMed ran a campaign called #lovewhatyoudo last year and asked all its employees to post positive reviews on Glassdoor to increase...

    Advice to Management

Fire the CIO as he has created a fearful, toxic and non-transparent environment. Also, replace the Director level positions in IT with well qualified individuals who know what they are doing and know how to manage people and projects. I’d also recommend to change your recruiting approach to make sure that you are recruiting religious like-minded candidates that believe in your faith if that is what you’re truly looking...

    Pros

Model of care- providing care for the neediest population!

    Cons

I am unsure where to start! Training in Miami is completely different from the reality. The goal for the company is to see your patients monthly. I have never been in a role where you are forced to make patients come in monthly. Everything is based on numbers- so if you are not seeing your patients that frequent than it's reported on your numbers. I have had patient who do not take any medications and up to date with...

    Advice to Management

Focus on VIP care for your staff. Fix the problems. Stop trying to pay people more money without fixing the ultimate issues. Money doesn't buy happiness. People will continue to leave until the problems are resolved!

Dear former medical provider, Thank you for your feedback. Due to the rapid growth and unique demands our model requires and the smaller panels of about 400-450 patients, we do embrace standardization for best practices and we also increase our expectations for the level of care ...

    Pros

awesome coworkers, patients, and work family.

    Cons

The company has values and things that, when interviewing, and hiring make this sound like a phenomenal opportunity. VIP CARE...but what they do not disclose, until after you begin working is...VIP care within reason, they load your schedule 20+ daily (even though your hired for a different number 12-16, check LinkedIN as well, they published the amount to work per day), you have to see all your own walkins, as well...

    Advice to Management

-appreciate the employees you have -acknowledge their hard work -stick to what you say--follow through with rewards/bonuses -disclose these things upfront -when recruiting providers, be forthcoming about different company names/turnover rates etc. also job duties and bonuses.

    Pros

If you like fast paces environment, then this place keeps you busy. Also allows you to roll your sleeves up and work on a lot of projects for your next career move.

    Cons

No accountability across all levels of the organization. Finger pointing is the norm. Management does not practice what they preach. Work, Life, Balance WHAT? They've coined a new term called, Life, Balance, Work. Management expects you to work more than you are hired for or payed to do and no recognition. Bonuses must be made on % of budget saved because once you are in, any Merritt increase is foreign concept....

    Advice to Management

Drop your egos at the door, listen to your employees, provide the proper training needed, stop talking about things you would like to do and start doing them. Remember people don't leave companies, they leave managers. Just because you are a manager does not mean you are better than everyone else. Your job is to be a leader and figure out how to raise other leaders. Not sit there and try to be the superstar you think...

    Cons

Right now, the organization is experiencing some "growing pains". People who are considering joining the organization need to be willing to step out of their comfort zone and be prepared to "roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty". Often times, you may be required to join projects that are outside of your job description. This also presents a great opportunity for advancement! ChenMed is still working on creating...

    Advice to Management

Continue to remain engaged across all markets with employees and patients. It seems like a very big task, considering the company's growing patient and employee base. It is not impossible. If we are all focused on our mission, we will accomplish a lot.
