I have been working at Cherokee Nation Industries full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Best things about working for Cherokee is the benefits and the people. There is a rich culture of loyalty, respect and honor with Cherokee Nation. There is room to develop different skill sets and help with higher education.

    Cons

It is tough sometimes because of the different businesses within Cherokee that policies and procedures aren't uniform across all businesses. The attendance policy and Kronos timekeeping is what makes it difficult to maintain workers because it is too easy to miss work.

I worked at Cherokee Nation Industries full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

One thing in their favor is that they generally don't have lay-offs, unless they decide to close your company altogether. If they do, you do have an inside track for other jobs with them.

    Cons

Management doesn't communicate with the workers very well. They tend to play things close to the vest. That can be a problem if they close the company. In my case, they assured us at the monthly meeting that we weren't going to close. Two weeks later, they announced the closure.
