I worked at Cherry Creek Schools full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    The people are friendly.

    Cons

Pay should be better for what a driver does.

    Advice to Management

Give a grace period on being late like 3 minutes. If a person is less than 3 minutes late and being late doesn't affect the route, then don't count it against the employee.

I have been working at Cherry Creek Schools (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The speech department is good. Some coworkers are nightmares but you can find that anywhere. Pay compared to other districts is poor but schools are higher performing than others.

    Cons

Less pay, not a lot of support for high caseload slps or caps on caseload numbers (i know some close to 60 with just a .2 slp to take some)

    Advice to Management

Cap slp caseloads. Speech therapists have advanced degrees and are worth higher pay.

I have been working at Cherry Creek Schools full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Work/Life Balance: I am out of the office every day at 4:00 PM like clockwork. No nights or weekends, no on-call, snow days off with kids, awesome about letting me take off to help out at my kid's schools. If there is ever a time when evening work is required, comp time is given. It is great to be able to leave work and just forget about it until the next day!

Flexible: Allowed to work from home when needed.

Employee Recognition: Employees work is recognized publicly and regularly.

Department and Team Building Events: We have team and department breakfasts, lunches, parties, and get-togethers outside work on a regular basis.

    Great Retirement Plan

Regular Training: If you need to learn something for your job, training is provided or purchased for you.

Great People: Everyone here is amazing! People seem genuinely happy to be here and care about the work they are doing.

Location: 8-10 minute drive, no highways or traffic.

    Cons

    Medical benefits could be better

Pay could be better, but honestly, I would never leave even if offered more money somewhere else. I took a large pay cut to come here and have never once regretted it.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

I worked at Cherry Creek Schools (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Wonderful benefits and beautiful facilities

    Cons

As with most public school systems, not necessarily the district itself; lack of teacher support systems, bureaucracy, and pointless meetings that take up valuable time which could be better spent in the classrooms, supporting our students' needs. It seems the students of parents are running the show, not the administration or teachers. Supposedly "all about the kids", when in reality, it's all about money and politics. Very sad.

    Advice to Management

Allow teachers to do what they've been hired to do; teach to the students, not to the test. Have faith in those you hire and treat them with the dignity and respect they deserve; they're obviously not there for the money, they're there because of their passion for teaching and learning.

    Pros

Growth opportunity, support, building climate is excellent, district support, great pay you move up fast on pay scale

    Cons

Parent driven, no meeting flexibility with SpEd teachers, SpEd teachers are stretched because building doesn't always have the knowledge of SpEd laws.

    Advice to Management

    Training relivant to position

I worked at Cherry Creek Schools (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Loved working there. Great benefits, especially with maternity leave.

    Cons

Work environment varies greatly depending on principal. I had two good ones, the second being the best, left when the third one came in and so did a lot of people.
