I have been working at Cheshire Medical Center full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Ive work for Cheshire Medical for over 10 years when I started it was a great place to work. Over the years it has lost its vision for caring for its patients and employees and is more focused on politics.

    Cons

    Benefits get worse every year
Pay raises maybe every 3 years
    Constant layoffs

I worked at Cheshire Medical Center part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There were no pros to working here. Very reactive environment instead of proactive. Top heavy in administrative positions leading to over analysis of issues but no solid action plan to solve them.

    Cons

Disorganized leadership. Tendency to hire people and their family members to get them to take the position disregarding any reviews of the family member's lack of qualifications for the position.

I worked at Cheshire Medical Center full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Cafeteria, free women's health screenings, gym

    Cons

They do not care about their employees. The organization comes first. There is a continuous flow of new people coming in, and people who have been working there for years, going out. The organization's appearance to the local community is paramount. They rarely call police when an employee crime has occurred. The emergency department is new, but the people are not. Staff in the ER often leave their patients for hours without checking on them.

    Advice to Management

The president should talk to his subordinates personally, rather than expect upper and mid-level management to be honest and tell the president the state of a department.
