not bureaucratic, startup feel, good mentors

    Cons

rigid work schedule, lack of professional development training, slow to adapt to new technology, high turnover

    Advice to Management

keep an eye on your manager. crappy manager should be let go so you don't lose good employees. also the ceo is kind of cheap; no trickle economic in sharing of success. not many employee engagement activity or free lunches.

I worked at Chester Engineers full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Most of the people there are nice and easy to get along with. The offices are nice.

    Cons

Management doesn't care for its employees. Was a hard worker took on a lot of responsibilities and got nothing for it. Was doing work of three people and got raises that didn't even keep up with inflation. People never hesitate to throw you under the bus if it's you or them. They spend money wrecklessly and pretty much with no thought. Hire PMs for absurd amounts of money and then find out they don't end up actually...

    Advice to Management

Make stronger spending decisions as you spend without any thought for unnecessary things. Reward employees who work hard and do jobs no one else will. If going to cut jobs and salaries, cut useless upper management salaries not that of hard working lower level employees who need it.

I worked at Chester Engineers full-time for more than a year

    Pros

They will employ almost anyone. Some PMs and employees are good people to work with. Laid back for the most part.

    Cons

They don't care what you need or want. The CEO only cares about how much money is going into his bank account. He is very arrogant and does not care about his employees. There are no benefits of working there...no bonuses, no thank yous, no raises, no anything. The Overhead at this company is truly astonishing.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees! Take action when they say there is a problem!

I worked at Chester Engineers for more than a year

    Pros

You get paid, you get benefits, you get ....well that's about it, nothing else really comes to mind.

    Cons

When I first joined Chester I was ecstatic, my first "grown-up" job. But then came to realize how much the company didn't care about its employees like other companies such as: AECOM, CH2M, or ARCADIS; cared about theirs. You can go through the motions and mention to your supervisor things you do not appreciate or simple complaints you have and they'll say "I can assure you we are working as hard as we can to fix the...

I have been working at Chester Engineers full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Chester Engineers is currently the engineering firm of record for a few large city water and sewer authorities

    Cons

Communication and currently pay cuts is a very large reason current employees are looking at other firms.

    Advice to Management

focus on communication, moral and retention of current field personel. The work force diversity isn't reflective in current staff.

      I worked at Chester Engineers

      Pros

Not many. The best thing about Chester is the physical office space. Nice cafeteria and nice fitness center.

      Cons

Egotistic and narcissistic CEO. The worst management team I've ever experienced. The culture is one of fear, intimidation, micromanagement, and disfunction. The entire senior leadership team is afraid of the Bob Agbede because he is an irrational child. Bunch of "yes men" if you can consider them men. Everyone including you own manager and co-workers will through you under the bus and talk behind your back. No females...
