I have been working at Chevron Pipe Line full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

    Pay and benefits are great

    Cons

So disorganized. Absolutely impossible to make change happen here. People in Houston who have never been to a field location make all the decisions. So much preferential treatment given that the people who are top performers never get the opportunity to advance.

      Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

I have been working at Chevron Pipe Line

      Pros

CPL is a small CVX OpCo but is very integrated functionally. This makes working in SCM very rewarding because of the interfaces to different parts of the organization. Each discipline will learn a lot from the other disciplines in this company.

      Cons

Currently going through restructuring so jobs are at a premium and most likely without much opportunity from outside CPL.

      Advice to Management

Focus on the employees that are the most flexible, have the broadest experiences, that provide the depth and breadth to get things done.

      Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Chevron Pipe Line full-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

Benefits only. Pay is average. They sell a good story about themselves.

      Cons

IT group targets age 50 or older workers to fire, as evidence by many people being fired in recent years, all older. Highly toxic and political. If you can swim with the sharks you might make it, else if you have a conscience then you will not be happy.

      Advice to Management

Straighten up your act or you will be open for a lawsuit for age discrimination. Whoever is driving this I hope they pay for it.
