I worked at Chevron as an intern

    Pros

Absolutely wonderful company to work for.

Smart and hard working people that will help you learn the Oil and Gas Industry

Excelled retirement benefits as all Oil and Gas Companies. 9/80 work week also.

Also you will be challenged during the internship. I did not feel like I was doing "drone" work.

    Cons

Tough to land a full time spot unless an engineer.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing with the internship program!
Hope the industry starts to pick up once again!

I worked at Chevron as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

I interned in Indonesia. Friendly people in the company. Made Friends with fellow interns that I still keep in touch with to this day. The project that I worked on was also challenging without being too frustrating.

    Cons

Since I was an intern, it took the IT department nearly two weeks to get my access ready. But otherwise, none really.

I worked at Chevron as a contractor (More than 5 years)

    Pros

A great group of people to work with. A very positive working environment. But their most positive characteristic is their focus on operating in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

During my tenure with Chevron I worked in a number of international locations and with a variety of co-workers. The attitudes and ethics of the team at Chevron were a consistent and positive approach to all their objectives and tasks.

    Cons

The most limiting factors I found at Chevron were that in some instances the roles and responsibilities were not clearly defined. This led to, inefficiencies, in the process.

Chevron has developed a number processes and procedures to try and standardize their capital projects and major expenditures. In some respects, attempting to adhere to those processes and procedures places unnecessary delays and roadblocks in those projects without adding any discernible value.
