I worked at Chevron full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great work life balance, and positive reinforcement from multiple levels of management. Excellent benefits and pay, with great hours and nice bonuses. A company that really does care about their employees and the career development of the employees. The management is dedicated to seeing that you, the employee, succeeds, both at your current position, but also within the scope of your career.

    Cons

Not really much in the way of a downside, perhaps the size of the company can, at times, make some employees feel as though they are just a number, but this is rare. Sometimes, because of the size, a bad manager or employee may receive a position that can have a negative affect on the employees' moral, but the management duration is usually short in any given area to counter this affect.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work, and remember to engage your employees, even the ones at the bottom of the workforce.

I have been working at Chevron full-time

    Pros

Decent pay, good benefits, good facilities, professional environment. It still offers pension plan.

    Cons

Dependent of your group, corporate politics may be the worst you've ever seen. Surprising level of nepotism for a public company. Too much focus on how you talk and too little on what you know and what you can do.

    Advice to Management

Hold yourself and others accountable. Encourage people to develop expertise and knowledge in their work as opposed to people who spends most of their time networking and trying to look and sound intelligent

    Pros

I really enjoyed my internship at Chevron Pascagoula. My co workers took me under my their wing, and really wanted to see me succeed. They went out of their way to teach me new things, and to make sure I could get the most out my internship.

    Cons

It's been nearly 6 years since my internship ended. I received all very highly rated reviews from my co workers, and have been through the application process 5 times since I left passed the test each time. My performance during my internship has no bearing out my hiring chances, all that matters is the interview.

    Advice to Management

Please, take into consideration interns performance reviews rather than basing employment chances souly on interview scores.
