      amount of growth can sometimes leave you with different managers at a more frequent pace than most, but that also gives the benefit of seeing different managerial approaches for your own learning

      Pros

      Company values are communicated in our operating principles but they are displayed every day in our actions. The company is in a high growth position right now with some typical small growing pains internally but nothing that any one experienced with large companies hasn’t seen before. Notably, Chewy does a lot of things better than a variety of other e-commerce companies like Amazon and wayfair. Because of that, you’ll see a lot of ex-Amazon and ex-wayfair people joining teams, as they leave those other places to join the pack at chewy and come to be a part of a company doing good things and with good people.

      There are somethings the company is still figuring out as we grow, nothing really other wise.

      Supportive Coworkers Actual Open Door Policy Low Turnover Many opportunities for advancement quickly No Scripts (except greeting) Ability to make your own decisions using best judgement for customers Customers come first, in a good way 9 of 10 customers are appreciative of the friendly service and tell you so Excellent employee appreciation Pets at work / when not remote REMOTE REMOTE REMOTE

      Off the wall phone calls sometimes If you cannot handle talking about customers pets that have passed this is not for you Can be emotionally testing sometimes but rarely Prank calls, yes it happens to everyone of us Training is 4weeks and it isn’t easy This is not a cushy job, be prepared to Work Accountability always, a pro for most but not all I experienced a death in the family and missed 3 hours of my last week and had to make up the week in training

      High Turn Over Rate For A Reason

      Pros

      The pay compensation seemed fair. Also, people who don't work there and have not dealt with the Chewy directly have a positive opinion of the company.

      Cons

      Roles and responsibilities are not clearly defined. So you end up doing things outside of your job description (so that you can get thing inside your job description done). However, then you are expected to continue doing those task, at which point you will become overwhelmed by the volume. Your management will be supportive, until something goes wrong. Then everything is on you. I think 1st level management is just as afraid of losing their job as you. Most people on my team operated in fear of losing their job. I found the company culture as immature from the director level down. But some directors were unprofessional as well. This leads to an environment where very good people are working really heard but end up leaving the company out of frustration, or being let go due to poor management. I never felt "included" at Chewy. Although there were some very good people at Chewy. They are out numbered by the unprofessional people.

      Pros

      Positive work environment. They do seem to appreciate work that you do.

      Cons

      Long hours and lots of walking up and down stairs where I am. They are short staffed on people to do training, so a lot of the people you’re with are just as new as you are and also can’t answer questions lol.

      Pros

      Convenience 4 days a week 10hr shifts 730am-6pm you can actually leave at 6pm UTO(unpaid time off) allows for emergencies or schedule conflicts PTO(paid time off) can be used on same day and in conjunction with UTO

      Cons

      poor communication between AM(area manager) to AM, AM to Lead and Lead to team member and vice versa team members fail to communicate upwards especially when leaving early

      Pros

      The culture and perks are fantastic. The pay is competitive for call center environments. It is pretty hard to get fired or reprimanded for incompetence or mistakes. Good training. Good benefits.

      Cons

      Almost zero upward mobility. If you are offered a 'promotion' it will likely include a worse shift and no pay raise.

      Pros

      Small & cute perks: Free snacks in office, sponsored happy hours & holiday gifts. More important pros: Socio-culturally aware and outspoken CEO. Salary above market average.

      Cons

      The company's growth means people and responsibility is often changing. This can make it difficult to know what your area of responsibility is or is not. Titles/positions are lower than market. i.e. Directors hired as Associate Directors, Sr. Managers hired as Mangers. The pressure at any level can be intense b/c pressure from CEO is intense.
