I have been working at Chicago Board Options Exchange full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Interesting projects with knowledgable coworkers

    Cons

After merging with Bats, CBOE had decided its best course forward is to make everyone equally miserable. Scale back the benefits from one side while slapping the other side with insulting titles and zero paths forward. Don't seem to care about their employees as much as the bottom line. Your benefits don't matter and neither do your career prospects because your replaceable.

    Advice to Management

Get a grip. Your workforce is aging out and your maroon cubicles aren't attractive to anyone of any age.

    Pros

Good work life balance and great co-workers.

    Cons

Coin of experience is low. Recent merger has added 1.6 billion in debt. They will be cutting staff, mostly IT staff to help pay the new mortgage.

    Advice to Management

Treat IT as a strategic asset rather than a cost center.
