I have been working at Chicago Marketing full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I was able to grow quickly with the company with a little hard work! I know coming into the company that I was going to have to start at a lower level and then work my way up. With the help of the management staff and rest of the team I was able to quickly learn and grow into the role that I wanted. I was happy to find that my advancement opportunity depended on my own work ethic!

    Cons

It took a lot of dedication when I first started but it all paid off because I was able to grow into a leadership role quickly.

    Advice to Management

So far so good! The management staff and the rest of the office has actually helped me significantly with my career with Chicago Marketing so far!

I worked at Chicago Marketing for less than a year

    Pros

The hiring process is unusually quick. You’ll be hired unless you’ve committed career suicide in the past.

    Cons

    1. Both from personal experience and previous employees, most people seem to be assuming the job roles/duties to be similar to that of a marketing coordinator rather than a retail sales representative. Not to say there’s anything wrong with it, but the term “Marketing Manager Trainee” in this context is a vague term, not a definition of a specific job role/duty. Ultimately, it’s up to the individual to realize this, but...

    Advice to Management

If you really want to hire better quality employees and have a lower turnover rate, you have to be more transparent about the job role/duties. It’s sales. Technically, it is indeed a part of marketing, but most people don’t seem to understand that and need to be educated about it. Management duties should be discussed 6-8 months down the line, not in the job interview. Be realistic and state that the ultimate job role...

I have been working at Chicago Marketing full-time for less than a year

    Pros

People, atmosphere, peer inspired motivation, opportunity.

    Cons

None so far, they give the opportunity, knowledge and the path to the door, it is up to you to open it and walk through.

    Advice to Management

Keep it up, your killing it.

I have been working at Chicago Marketing full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I have worked with Chicago Marketing for the last 4 years, and currently serve as a Market Director at one of their branches in the Chicagoland area. Having come from the restaurant business, this industry was completely unlike anything I had ever experienced. It took me 7 months to get through the training process, but through the training I was able to ascertain the necessary tools I was going to need to be successful...

    Cons

More team dinners, tickets, and suit bonuses!

    Advice to Management

Don't change the family business feel. It is the same thing I always loved about the restaurant business, at the end of the day we are a family.

I worked at Chicago Marketing full-time for less than a year

    Pros

There are no pros other than minimum wage salary. False sense of an opportunity! Always about the big picture or opportunity which realistically isn't for everyone.

    Cons

A ton of turnover, both in office and in the field. No real marketing for this position--just a sales position. The woman on the phone and ceo lied about salary, pto, and health benefits. Run away from here.

    Advice to Management

Stop lying about the job! Be real and stop using your job to make friends.
