I have been working at Chicago Water & Fire Restoration full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great company to work with, especially with the growth they have been experiencing. The company has a great culture and expectations out of their employees. Management looks to all levels of employees for input on continued growth and success. Everyone here works hard for the same goal.

    Cons

The job can be a lot of hours sometimes - but that is expected for the industry/situation.

I worked at Chicago Water & Fire Restoration full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You get paid well when you finally become a crew chief. The other guys in the field and the dispatchers are incredibly hard working.

    Cons

The company (owner) does not care about how long you work as long as he gets his income. On average you can expect to work 15-18 hour days with no paid vacation, no sick days, no offered 401k program (you have to ask to be enrolled, then they will make you feel like you are robbing them by enrolling), they will charge you for a lunch break but will not allow you to take one, and worst of all you will never have job security. If you challenge the management (ask questions about whether or not what we do is legal) you will receive "extra supervision" on your jobs and calls. They also allow uncertified employees to conduct jobs that require a special certification to conduct (mold, water mitigation, and sewage). There is also no proper training provided to employees and many have been injured on the job because of this. Overall, I would never recommend this company to anyone and I will never go back and work there.

    Advice to Management

Conduct a significant amount of ethical training and appreciate what your employees do for you.
