I worked at Chicanos Por La Causa full-time

    Pros

Cares for employees, their families and the community; fair pay and benefits. For the most part, this was the best job I had

    Cons

The biggest problem is the lack of communication. Communication stops at the executive level. It goes up to them and down to them. Most things don't go any farther. So the "worker bees" never really know what is going on, including the impact on their jobs. They find out at the last minute and have to scramble instead of being aware at the beginning and having the ability to prepare.

Politics have gotten worse. It is really sad, because David doesn't realize. David and his predecessor Edmundo, really have an open door policy. They take the time to talk to whomever comes by.

    Advice to Management

Communication. I don't know how you would fix this, since the majority of the problems exist because of your executive team and some directors. I can tell you that most departments don't have the requested weekly meetings. That the do is a lie perpetuated throughout your management. The 4DX isn't working. They are suppose to meet as a team weekly. There are a lot of groups that don't meet and are required to tell anyone who asks to say they did. If you can't get the communication working throughout the company, how can you get the 4DX to work. You have to get the whole (or majority) of your employees involved and the only way is to communicate. Only then will they get on board with new initiatives. To them it is just another thing to do

    Pros

Close knit and almost "family" feel to organization. An assortment of opportunities for professional growth. Flexibility with management provided your fulfilling your duties.

    Cons

Some people within the organization are entrenched in their own ways. Because of the size of the organization, many other employees do not know or understand what the other departments do.

    Advice to Management

Keep focusing on building new talent and promoting within. Work towards helping departments mingle and understand what everyone else does.
