I worked at Chick-fil-A part-time for more than a year

    Pros

The people are probably the best part about working at Chick-Fil-A. Everyone is nice, friendly, and very willing to help out whenever you need information or guidance. Even the customers can be quite nice at times due to the atmosphere that the company provides. The work itself is challenging but satisfying. You are constantly helping others get what they wanted, which can give a sense of accomplishment. In addition, the job itself pushes great skills onto you such as time management, leadership, and teamwork - all of which come into play as you work here.

    Cons

The job itself is fast-paced, which can become hectic for people who prefer a slower-paced environment. Sometimes this can lead to small accidents, especially if you are untrained or don't understand exactly what you are supposed to be doing at the time. Some customers can also be rude at times. Overall most are friendly, but I've personally been insulted with some very nasty language over the smallest of things, or even nothing at all / outside of my control.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work - providing guidance and proper training to the team is critical, especially when I worked there. Creating an environment for improvement and advancement - especially in such a high turn-over industry - is key for retaining workers and fostering a good work environment

I have been working at Chick-fil-A full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Very upbeat, friendly workplace with excellent coworkers who are usually fresh out of or still in high school. The customers are, in general, very polite. As a franchised company, management and ownership differs depending on location, but prospective owners must go through a detailed vetting process before they are allowed to open their own store.

    Cons

Since many of the employees are in high school or college, there is a very high turnover rate. Shifts can be long (usually 6-10 hours at my location), and you are on your feet the entire time, always moving quickly. Breaks are short. There are occasional spats with disgruntled customers.

    Advice to Management

Really take the time to get to know all of your employees. Know them by name, find out what their interests are, what their career goals are. Since many of your employees are young (most of the kids are working their first job), you have the opportunity to invest in their future. They will remember you forever; take the time to invest wisely.

I have been working at Chick-fil-A full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The overall morale, attitude and work environment are positive and professional. Chick Fil A strives for excellence and achieves excellence by hiring wonderful staff.

    Cons

Every CFA is different; therefore, it's hard to gauge the entire business's downfalls. Wage is probably the biggest concern of most. Most team members don't make more than $10-$11 an hour.
