Pros

Nice facilities. Great classrooms, equipment and large motor areas. (Indoor and outdoor) Good starting pay.

Cons

Unrealistic expectations of teachers to adhere to the curriculum. Doesn't allow for teachers to make good, sound professional decisions for the children because teachers are expected to have 100% fidelity to the curriculum. Missed teaching opportunities because teachers have to first adhere to the curriculum before they are allowed to teach outside the curriculum box. This is the only teaching job that I disliked in my last 30 years of teaching. Management is set in their ways and they do not consider any suggestions from staff regarding fidelity to the curriculum or parent/student guidelines. This job stifled my creativity and love/passion for teaching. Leaving was the best decision I made. Upper management degrees in accounting and teaching at the high school level. Where are the decision makers who have degrees on early childhood education?
