I have been working at ChildCare Careers (More than a year)

    Pros

It's easy to get hired, placement isn't completely rude. You do get to experience a variety of programs , and sites. You get to develop yourself as a teacher and greet variety if btw ideas for classroom management.

    Cons

No benefits. No consistent hours (pay). Hard to find permanent work. Which is s double edged sword, I have worked with several people who really enjoy my work and request me continually. They don't send me to them consistently enough for my contract to be bought out. I can't afford to buy my own contract out, so now what I thought was a window of opportunity, has become a restraint. I can't apply to any district in the county OR one of the largest child care chains in the US, which dramatically cuts my options for benefits, stability, and decent hours down. Unless I pay a lot of money or wait an entire year. I'm freaking out.

    Advice to Management

Should make the contract terms AND fee's/prices between the agency and employee very clear before they literally sign their career and livelihood away.

    Pros

I don't work there but I have a contract with them to send me teachers when I am short staffed however non are ever available ,or half of them are rude and inexperienced or just odd....

    Cons

As an employer that hires them to have teachers available when I need them they never have anyone available which leaves us in a sticky situation. You would hope that you can count on the to provide a substitute since we have a contract with them. I definitely would think twice before hiring this company again.

    Advice to Management

Do what you advertise and have staff available for your companies that rely on you .

    Pros

    Flexible hours
    No supervisor really
I don't have anything else to add that is a "win" for this company.
The negatives outweigh everything else. Only apply if you are in a pinch.

    Cons

They don't pay you on the day they are supposed to (ILLEGAL)
Outdated system, penalizes you for USPS errors
Violate their own policies by calling you during an assignment and expecting you to call back within an hour while on assignment
Some of the staff is rude
    Unethical Company
Short term solution, not a permanent one, only take if desperate

    Advice to Management

    Don't be a crooked company

I worked at ChildCare Careers (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible, can set hours you are available to get called in for substitution work. It's interesting and a learning experience as you get to experience many types of child care providers, from Head Start to private preschools.

    Cons

The coordinators who called to assign jobs could be very rude and unprofessional. It got to the point that I couldn't take it anymore and had to resign.
