    Positive Outlook

I worked at Children's Home Society of Missouri full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Great place to work. Standard pay, but great benefits. Excellent health insurance, very generous pension and good vacation and 3 of holidays. Employees who show up and work and follow the basic work place rules are able to advance in their job and pay.

    Cons

Management does not always hire the right people, which in turn affect the good employees because they had to listen to the bad employees whamming and not do their job. However, management also try to give these bad employee a chance and they keep them on board way to long. Remember the old saying about 1 bad apple spoiling the bunch.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the bad employees sooner because no matter how you try, some people are just not good workers.

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Children's Home Society of Missouri full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good place to start out to get a background in working with children/families with disabilities and trauma. Most people are committed to their job.

    Cons

Job was so-so. Nice offices and space. Work climate sometimes was difficult. Communiciation could have been better, needed more information shared. Salary was not very good.

    Advice to Management

Spend more time doing well planned and beneficial trainings. If someone is making a mistake then speak up right away, don't wait until evaluations to tell them..

I worked at Children's Home Society of Missouri full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Location is easy to get to. It has a good community reputation. Employees take pride in their work and are intelligent and hard working. There is a real love for the children served.

    Cons

There are many challenges. Employees are not treated fairly. There has always been a management clique that disregards employees experience. If not for the good work of long time employees the company should receive two stars. Communication is very poor between management and workers. Management talks about employees and confidential information about them to others. Employees are afraid to express their opinions as many...

    Advice to Management

There needs to be a total change in management. Someone from the outside needs to be brought in to provide a fresh view and perspective.
