    Excessive bullying

Feb 28, 2023 - Research Coordinator in Los Angeles, CA

    Pros

There are some incredibly kind, compassionate, and hard working doctors, nurses, and researchers that work at CHLA. The Cafeteria is basically a 5 star restaurant.

    Cons

I have never witnessed the type of excessive bullying in any organization in my life. HR will receive repeated compliments about sever work place bullying about a specific supervisor from numerous people and will simply go through the motions of "an investigation" but never actually implement any form of action to remedy the situation. They sit back as multiple research coordinators are the targets of retaliation and will do absolutely nothing about it. If you come to work here, you are not protected against being screamed out in front of countless coworkers, managers talking poorly about you to other colleagues, and punishing you for speaking up about being mistreated.

Good company morale - hard to get raises

Feb 13, 2023 - Clinical Research Coordinator in Los Angeles, CA
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

This company is great in that it cares for its employees but it is very challenging to get a pay raise here. They do not base the pay off experience but rather tenure.

    Cons

Pulling teeth to get any kind of raise. No bonuses.

    Has It's Pros and Cons

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Friendly work environment with great providers and nurses. The children who are patients here give you a new sense of gratitude and perspective on things and they are absolutely wonderful.

    Cons

If you are not a provider or RN, most employees must park off campus at separate lots which transport you by bus to the hospital. This can be very time consuming, so I would advise getting to the lot on time because it is very easy to be late. To add, I felt very taken advantage of in my time there by my supervisor as I was asked almost daily to do a handful of things that were out of my responsibilities. I felt that my kindness and excitement to help make a change was taken advantage of because I was more of a newcomer than most of the people in my department. I would just warn about possible uneven distribution of work depending what your job position is.
