I have been working at Children's Hospital Los Angeles full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Supportive staff, opportunities for learning and growth, ability to build relationships with families and coworkers. Ability to learn about various units within the hospital. CHLA offers continuing education courses, and SOcial workers are able to participate within interdisciplinary teams where their voices are heard and respected.

    Cons

Fast paced environment requires adaptability. Must be willing to provide services for grief and loss/death and dying. No cons here

I have been working at Children's Hospital Los Angeles full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

High standards for excellence, achievement, and focus on patients and families.

    Cons

Difficult commute for many people due to location. Needs improved focus on physical office space for all staff to allow positive working environments, that in turn will support patient care.

    Advice to Management

Include staff in more hospital restructuring (physical and departmental) decisions. Less focus on the bottom line of money and more on employee retention and satisfaction.
