    Pros

They hire cleaning people so your only focus is taking care of the children. Hours are the same every day, and closed on weekends. Big, clean classrooms with lots of supplies. Children are very sweet. Management was very nice, you can tell they genuinely care about the kids. You get a big discount if you enroll your child here as an employee + health insurance.

    Cons

Each place is individually owned so you never know what you'll get management/hours wise. The location I worked at had lots of very young (18-25) teachers who loved to create drama and gossip. They were very catty and made working there difficult.
There are webcams in every classroom where the parents can watch you the entire time. Normally, this is fine, but there's always overbearing parents who complain their child napped for two minutes less than yesterday, or only ate half a carrot at snack time. You'll get bounced around different age groups than you said you'd work with.

    Advice to Management

Hire teachers with college degrees or college students, or at least more mature and professional employees that don't act like high school cliques.

I worked at Childrens Lighthouse full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The children and some of the parents are nice.
    No holidays or weekends.
    Great co workers

    Cons

    Owner and management is horrible!
It's all about ratio!!! They don't care if you need extra help, once you're in ratio you are by yourself.
Owner is cheap and doesn't care about employees.
Low pay, no benefits, no raise.
Curriculum is a joke. It's based out of Texas and doesn't always apply to your own state rules.
I felt like I was in jail all day, locked in a room.
    No new supplies or toys.
    High turnover.

    Advice to Management

It's about the employees more than the children. Happy employees make a better work environment.

I worked at Childrens Lighthouse full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I got to work by myself. Kiddos are cute.

    Cons

Job ad said company was looking for a non-gossiping professional. I get there and the director was talking bad about people loud enough for people in break room to hear. 'training' was just reading outdated print outs. CPR certification was given by owner, who passed anybody. Short staffed. High turnover. I asked for SOPs, job descriptions, and permit clarification and was met with resistance. Director flat out lied about job titles of others. Too much favoritism and nepotism.

    Advice to Management

Owners need to provide more over sight of operations. Better trained manager/director to handle multi tasking and turnover issues. Act like it's an actual business and not just friends watching some kids. I wasn't hired to make friends, but to work.
