I worked at Chili's Grill and Bar full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

“Once a ChiliHead, ALWAYS a ChiliHead” It is kind of like becoming part of a cult. I met some of my best friends while working here. A few of them were not even team members, some were regulars. This place becomes your family. And it is a money maker. You would not believe the amount of money, in any position, that you could obtain while being a ChiliHead.

    Cons

Long hours. You will basically live in your restaurant. If you are not liked, you will know it. Once you develop a perfect team, Corporate will come in and change that. A guest can literally get away with anything if they call Corporate. I have watched managers get fired over something that definitely did not even happen.

    Advice to Management

Go back to the old way of Chili’s. When I started, there was a major focus on the overall happiness of Team Members and Management. The last year or two I was there, voices stopped being heard. For one, the MEE surveys stopped getting things accomplished and turned more into how much a managers bonus was going to be. Contests became almost obsolete unless managers spent their own money to motivate Team Memebers.
