I have been working at Chili's Grill and Bar full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Decent benefits, competitive pay. Discounts across the brand. GM is fair with schedules. Can use vacation when requested. Great staff.

    Cons

Stretched too thin, always. Shifts are understaffed from the front door to the back door. Food is not as good as it used to be.

    Advice to Management

Been with Chilis since 2005. Hired as a manager from outside. Was a dream restaurant management job for me at the time. Not the same company I started with. Days are filled with stress and unhappy guests. We used to say "take our job seriously, but not ourselves ". Impossible attitude to have now. Haven't had fun at work in years.

I worked at Chili's Grill and Bar full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

If uou find the right store, the chili's values and training processes are exactly what you need to have a fun -filled environment while you work. My years at the Lake County, Florida store were filled with fun and love , with bosses and coworkers who actually cared.

    Cons

If you don't have the right bosses, or the store doesn't follow the procedures it should, your experience can be a nightmare. I transferred stores , and the environment was completely different, they were selfish individuals and team service didn't exist , and if you've ever worked for Chili's you know that team service is a staple.

    Advice to Management

Make sure you follow up on your district managers , send undercover bosses to evaluate why things are happening behind the scenes.

I worked at Chili's Grill and Bar part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Flexible schedule and cash daily with tips. Co-workers were fun to work with.

    Cons

After recession, they changed their menu to start offering very inexpensive items that drove down the total amount of tips. Basically went from an average of $10 an hour in tips to an average of less than $6.00 per hour in tips
