    Pros

Good group of talented people. Most of my teammates were nice easily to work with.

    Cons

Like all CRO s, workload could be heavy at times We also constantly run into technical problems which could slow down our work progress. Sometimes, one has to use one's personal time to get things completed. But frankly that happens a lot in Pharma/Biotech and CROs.

    Advice to Management

Reduce technical breakdown. Put more effort in developing your people, not just only those right out of college.

    Pros

This company is growing. They have great benefits packages. Although I'm only in a contracted position, I feel that my Line Manage is very genuine!

    Cons

I feel like it will take a while to advance!

    Advice to Management

Continue to push employees towards advancement within their careers.

    Pros

Chiltern is a friendly and safe place to work. Their benefits are good and the salaries are competitive.

    Cons

There is a big turnover with employees. It seems like there is a lack of communication between management and their staff.

I have been working at Chiltern International full-time

    Pros

Nice people. Great value system. Feels like a family. Salary and raises are competitive. Only 1-2 studies at a time. 8-10 days on site per month. Line managers seem to really listen and genuinely want to help when you have a problem or concern.

    Cons

If you don't like the study you are on or the Sponsor, you really have no voice/options to change it.
    No bonus structure in place
    No travel incentive pay
When your study is using Sponsor SOPs and systems, you have to train on their SOPs, systems and still keep up all training on Chiltern's SOPs/Systems as well, which is double work.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. When people are happy they work harder and stay longer. Unhappy people leave. Even if they don't really want to.

    Pros

This CRO does quality work and does not work with the huge pharma companies. After six months with this company, my quality of life is much improved over larger CROs that work with big pharma clients.

    Cons

The travel is more likely to be national than regional.

I have been working at Chiltern International full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Jim is a friendly, approachable, and informative CEO. When we have a company gathering (cook off, monthly birthday celebrations, etc.) he shows up if he's in town. The company is family friendly and offer flexible work schedules to accommodate working parents. Everyone helps each other and the group is team-oriented.

    Cons

A lot of changes going on currently. Because of this, it's not always apparent when new projects are assigned.

There was no training provided on department procedures.

    Advice to Management

Provide training and develop a better method for letting folks know when they get a new project.

    Pros

Great CRO to work for. You have a line Manager that's very attentive to your needs and work life balance is truly defined here compared to others.

    Cons

Need to upgrade their CTMS and Expense reporting system. Also train your CTLs more.

I have been working at Chiltern International full-time

    Pros

I have developed many excellent relationships at Chiltern and have felt supported in times of difficulty by the management team.

    Cons

Rapid growth through acquisitions is stretching resources and the internal systems. Hopefully short term difficulties will not last too long.

    Advice to Management

Keep in mind why many employees have stayed with the company for a long time and work to maintain the relationships and quality of life.
