    I worked at Chinese American Service League part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    CASL has a casual environment with a laid-back culture. Everyone is friendly to work with and there are opportunities to grow if you want to grow.

    Cons

    Since it is non-profit, compensation and benefits may not be that great. A lot of it depends on government funding and fundraising.

    Advice to Management

    Communication between departments is very important so every staff member is on the same page.

        - The hub of providing free workshops for ID renewals, property tax appeals, legal consultations, health screenings, benefits and adult/children day services. - Chinese immigrants and citizens alike from all over the city come to CASL for help

        - Can be overworked with little compensation

        Promotion, more flexibility in dipping into other departments
