I worked at Choate Construction full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I'm sure there is one, just struggling to find it.

    Cons

This is a male dominated environment; females are not respected or valued but rather considered expendable. I cannot speak for those in the field but the office staff is micromanaged and always under a black cloud of percieved insufficient performance.

    Advice to Management

Realize that the project managers and superintendents you cherish could not possibly get their jobs done without the support from their staff. Respect, acknowledgement and monitary encouragement go a long way to improve morale.

I have been working at Choate Construction full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I have been working at Choate for 10 years in a full-time capacity.

    I LOVE it here.

Working at Choate provides a tight-knit family feel while providing the benefits and growth potential of a large firm. The recent transition by our supportive management to make Choate 100% employee owned is evidence of how much they care about and value ALL employees, no matter of seniority. Our very low turnover rate also exemplifies this.

I also love the reputation Choate has in our marketplace; I am proud to work for a company that takes pride in the quality services we provide.

Finally, I love that Choate values giving back to the community and the philanthropic mindset that is modeled from the top down.

    Cons

None that I can think of.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work.
