I have been working at Choctaw Casino and Resorts part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Choctaw Casinos is a nice place to work. They offer training to help you become more at ease with your job. Also there are various types of career changes an associate can make until they find the one that they feel fits them. Choctaw is always looking for ways to expand to help their community with jobs in the surrounding areas.

    Cons

Associates should expect to work on weekends as this is when the business is at its busiest. Some days for holidays and poker tournaments will make it necessary for no call ins.

    Advice to Management

Great place for hospitalty and for building ones career.

I have been working at Choctaw Casino and Resorts full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Too many to name! Constant improvement control efforts, as in continuing education- FREE! Benefits are literally part of the already awesome pay. Asst. F&B Director I work with is always looking to help those he sees potential in. HR always willing to listen and be fair. I will retire here. I LOVE my new job.

    Cons

Took some time to get used to smoke in casino. Had bronchitis...not due to casino, but it didn't help.

    Advice to Management

Stop letting servers get away with whatever they want. I personally do not; any other employer would laugh and fire a server who wanted to constantly complain and claim "it's not fair." They need to get another job, if possible. And stop arguing with superiors.

I have been working at Choctaw Casino and Resorts part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Great Benefits
    - Great pay for the area
    - Room to move up in the company

    Cons

    - Too many managers
    - Not enough work force (Short-staffed 10 people in the buffet for over a year)
    - Management contradicts themselves constantly, you can't win

    Advice to Management

    - Get more people in there. We can be the best team out there but we can only do so much with how little people we had hired.

    - Have a game plan and stick to it. Certain supervisors would always contradict other supervisors. You need to communicate to each other. People quit bosses, not jobs.

    - You can't keep lengthening the time we are open and then only putting that work on 2nd shift. Morning shift always runs about 8 1/2 to 9 hours. Night shift on Fridays and Saturdays would run 11 hours most weeks, if not more. On Asian concert night upwards of 15 hours.

    Pros

Good managers let you work as many hours as you want can switch shifts if you want

    Cons

Very few if any. Maybe they could relax the point structure of being written up.
