    Although you gain another family with guests, sometimes you lose time with your own family.

    I worked at Choice Hotels full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Friendly regulars and fast internet for the area

    Cons

    No organizations, Owner/GM doesn’t care, employees steal money and Owner/GM does nothing, Employees are 10 minutes late on a consistent basis and nothing happens to them, employees show up stoned and nothing happens, 1 employee went into the in house list and got a phone number of a guest and sexually harassed her(nothing happened to the employee)

    Advice to Management

    Be better in all areas. It’s hard to nail it down to 1 or 2 things. This place is a dumpster fire!!

    Pros

    - Manager was great, friendly, worked with us and helped us with issues -Coworkers were friendly, no huge issues

    Cons

    - High turnover because of the type of job - Clients were awful and working alone made it a little difficult when clients became aggressive or demanding

    Pros

    Great co-workers, some flexibility in scheduling, meeting interesting new faces and seeing great regular customers.

    Cons

    Your attitude will set your day and be reflected back at you by clients. Can be challenging to help them in accordance to company guidelines.

    Listen to both employees and clients more.

    The guests the hours and some of the staff

    Cons

    The management. No benefits. No paid holidays, no vacation pay, no incentives.

    Advice to Management

    Treat your staff better. Communication is a key part for a business to be run properly. Not management belittling staff members in front of other employees and guests.

    Pros

    Employee discount is pretty nice. It depends where you go and when to what discount you get. Sometimes, it's not worth using as some of the hotels offered are downright nasty. Get to meet different people from all walks of life Gain valuable experience in the hospitality industry

    Cons

    Low pay Have to deal with occasional rude and unhappy customers no matter what you do Because many if not all Choice Hotels are run independently, some areas offer better working environments than others. Unfortunately, mine isn't great.

    Advice to Management

    I wish that pay could be more than minimum wage, stop cutting costs everywhere that make the hotels look shabby, better communication with employees.

    I have been working at Choice Hotels full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    The Choice Advantage system is very easy to learn and use. It is one of the better hotel systems. You also can receive discounts towards rooms that are decently priced anywhere in the country.

    Cons

    This job does not pay much so lay pay is a problem. You have to pay for quality workers. Training is not always sufficient or the workers are not dedicated at all times.

    Advice to Management

    Have to pay more for quality, experienced hospitality staff. It is a must.

    I have been working at Choice Hotels full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    I've only been with the company for about a month, but my coworkers are extremely friendly and have trained me well since the beginning!

    Cons

    A couple cons that I have with this job are the pay and lack of benefits besides the employee discount at their hotels. The only other would be the inconsistent schedule, but it's nothing I haven't done before so it doesn't really bother me.
