I worked at Christ Hospital full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Excellent Hospital setting. Good staffing ratio with team spirit. Great experience for employees that are other centered and motivated.

    Cons

I live in Northern Kentucky and the drive takes over 30 minutes at the minimum, but depending on circumstances can become much longer due to traffic.

I have been working at Christ Hospital part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Room for advancement. Certain Management personnel backs you up, gives encouragement. Great corporation, great patient care and satisfaction

    Cons

Insurance very expensive. Upper Management main goal is profit vs employee safety or satisfaction a lowly taking away incentives such as clinical ladder

I have been working at Christ Hospital (More than a year)

    Pros

Co workers work hard, pay is decent. Good work experience. Flexible scheduling is their strongest quality, especially for student employees.

    Cons

Management is stifled either by their incompetence, or by their superiors. Not all employees are treated equally. Management cares more about minute details than employee satisfaction. Pay should be better.

    Advice to Management

Care about employees more than your bottom line. Then employees would surpass your expectation.

I have been working at Christ Hospital full-time

    Pros

    very excellent place to learn

    Cons

expensive benifits, high deductible on EPO, PPO

    Advice to Management

make employee health care affordable, lower deductible plan and lower premiums. appreciate your employees by bringing back union type benifits such as time and one half on sundays, double time on holidays, if working the holiday offer another day off the same week with pay. this would go a long way to retaining staff. As this is a faith based institution consider making Easter a holiday, this is part of work/life balance.

I have been working at Christ Hospital full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Work with great, understanding doctors who truly care about their patients. Can’t think of anything else? They used to reimburse for uniforms but not anymore

    Cons

No room for advancement. Actually being told a job I was qualified for would be a “conflict of interest” because my current co-workers wouldn’t take me seriously??? Pay raises are laughable. Too much micro managing from upper management

    Advice to Management

You’ll get more from your employees if you appreciate them. And not from a corny email from CEO saying “we appreciate you”....

I have been working at Christ Hospital full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Improved patient satisfaction due to improving technological advancements within Epic software sytems

    Cons

As of lately there has been major changes in upper administration and lack thereof. The after effect is creating tumultuous affects for teams specifically within IT. Company culture is non-existent and the focus is on $$$.

There is zero engagement with management in developing their teams which is HUGE when it comes to day to day work satisfaction. Sadly, I have seen this decline over the past three years. If they don't make changes they will be losing a huge pool of skilled talent.

    Advice to Management

Work on developing your staff interpersonally and professionally. There is zero room for growth and staff is feeling this. There is no desire to come into the office when half of you have a closed door approach literally and figuratively. I'm comparing TCH to other companies which excel in this area and frankly we can do much better. More team lunches and activities which will create a culture of inclusion, team volunteering events, etc. Celebrate wins! Spread happiness, motivate others, embrace and inspire employee autonomy, practice flexibility with your staff, promote a TEAM atmosphere.
Improved company culture doesn't happen overnight but Management needs to be proactive in developing this among their teams.

I worked at Christ Hospital full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some very nice people to work with

    Cons

Management, incentives, benefits low in comparison to other acute care hospitals, no work life balance, no recognition, high turnover, staff in fear of retaliation, cliques, very unprofessional environment

    Advice to Management

Come out of your office and get to know your employees for yourselves, don’t encourage gossip and petty behaviors, acknowledge a job well done, be fair and consistent

I worked at Christ Hospital full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great people to work with. The hospital did try to give great benefits, such as free parking, etc.

    Cons

The pay raises were a joke. They would have nurses coming in fresh out of college, and you would be training them...yet they would be making more money than you. They dont reward those who stay and put in the extra hours.

    Advice to Management

Continue ramping up your retention and rewards system for nurses and staff.
