I worked at Chubb full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I found that Chubb had a good training protocol for claim adjusters who were new to that role.

    Cons

I do not know if the same training regimen exists since the Ace merger.

I have been working at Chubb full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Chubb has always had great benefits and long term employees. I loved my job for 15 years.

    Cons

Chubb was purchased by ACE and the New Chubb is offshoring almost all of its IT.

    Advice to Management

Offshoring IT is short sighted and the loss of expertise will be detrimental to the business users.

I have been working at Chubb full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Chubb has good benefits with 401K and matching funds. New combined organization appears to have opportunities if you are willing to move laterally

    Cons

Career development within IT has traditionally been a weakness for ACE. New tools are being utilized post acquisition, but it remains to be seen if they will help. Significant salary disparities between legacy ACE and Chubb employees in similar roles is problematic.

    Advice to Management

Better leveling of salaries for those ACE employees who are being paid significantly less for same or higher job grades than the legacy Chubb employees

I have been working at Chubb full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Globally recognized, the "Ivy League" of Insurance companies. Good starting pay. Education program pays for all materials and rewards bonuses for each passing exam/ completion of designation.

    Cons

Many people have left due to the merger which is creating heavy workloads for those who remain. Company could improve upon work-life balance.

    Advice to Management

    None

    I worked at Chubb full-time

    Pros

Kind and collaborative work environment, strong brand, and great opportunities for leadership development. There are a lot of good people who work there.

    Cons

The company since the acquisition is more autocratic. Less room for creative freedom, autonomy and flexibility.

    Advice to Management

Don't lead by fear. Listen to each other and be respectful of others' opinions.

    Pros

    Stable company
    Good benefits including bonus
    Chances for advancement
Option to work from home 3x a week
    Friendly and helpful atmosphere

    Cons

After merger with ACE, had to learn their system-difficult working with 2 systems.
Raises are very small-reviewed once a year.

    Advice to Management

Let Ace people handle ACE and Legacy Chubb handle Chubb matters until one system is developed to handle both.
