I have been working at Chubb full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The benefits are great and you can adjust your hours no major micromanaging you can work independently decent work environment of you worked in a call center before

    Cons

The certification process is terrible 8 long months of stress the training was poor your expected to take notes and remember what you been taught which entails a buttload of info they expect you to retain this info and ask no questions if you do you are made to look like an idiot for asking the trainers are old and lazy little to no tools is provided every thing is almost manual the systems used are from the dark ages and the pay is a joke you are constantly receiving threats if you don't perform the majority of the time you are guessing no one knows their job you literally are the computer yet you get paid like a lowly servant lots of favoritism and rude old stuck in their ways management no pat on the back but constant negative feedback

    Advice to Management

Give positive feedback to new hires don't use fear and attrition

    Pros

good pay, great benefits. Great location, (downtown Chicago) . Matching 401k,(up to a point) great health insurance. Being part of a respected name in the insurance industry.

    Cons

The merger of the two companies, now one corporation, has left a lot of people literally out in the cold and out of a job, myself included!

    Advice to Management

I have none.since I know nothing about the new, expanded organization.

    I worked at Chubb full-time

    Pros

Before the acquisition, this was the place to be. There was potential for career growth & movement within the company. The blending of two ideologies ended up being one company taking on the other's beliefs and values, which seem to be none.

    Cons

Initially you are lured in with the promise of work-life balance. This is not so as you are not only encouraged, but expected to contribute your nights/weekends to your work.

Managers are worse than catty high school girls. They are quickly offended if someone looks to leave the department they are in for potential to grow as an individual.

Lack of knowledge by human resources is also an issue. After acquisition, it seems as though they either weren't given information on new procedures & guidelines or perhaps they chose not to learn it.

    Advice to Management

Management classes would be a good start.
