I worked at Church Pension Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Extremely generous benefits, amazing coworkers, beautiful environment, everyone is serving the clergy in one way or another so you feel part of something bigger than yourself

    Cons

Very, very few opportunities for upward mobility, ability to work yourself out of a job if you are self-motivated since it appears as if you don't have enough work to do, management not inspired to develop workers but this could be changing, too much hiring from outside due to halo effect

I have been working at Church Pension Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent benefits, flexible work schedule, ability to remote compute,

    Cons

Extremely lengthy interview and vetting process. I was interviewed at least four times, had to take a personality text, etc. Promotional standards are not consistent from department to department. Employee happiness can be dependent upon who they directly report to.

    Advice to Management

Establish management standards to ensure all departments have the same experience and access to information, promotions, etc.

I worked at Church Pension Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    illusion of good benefits
promise to provide benefit in future

    Cons

cannot avail benefits, before you get to avail benefits they lay you off.

Company will drink each and every ounce of energy in your body. They want you to work at least 15 hours a day and then also they will not be satisfied. There is no one i found in this company who is happy. They try to find fault with everything you do. If you are applying here without discouraging you, I want to say be careful they fire people contractors on weekly basis. Full time employees also very quickly. In offer letter they write contingency that if we don't like you in 60 days we will do performance review and then let you go. Don't take this lightly this is what they do. To avoid lawsuits they give you one month or two months severance to get rid of you. This company is on steroids extremely crazy. Managers job is also not safe they are let go with no notice. But if you work all weekends and at least 12-15 hours a day they will keep you. They don't want you to take vacation, in IT they have open table chair environment, its very distracting. You cannot concentrate on your work. But that's not a big deal, VP and Presidents are evil though they claim themselves to church Bishops etc. Reason I am saying evil is they wont think twice before letting you go. I wish you good luck guys, this is worst company I ever been. But I am just saying my experience, don't take my advice to heart if you get job you can try them but very soon you will realize what I am saying is true. Good Luck!

I have been working at Church Pension Group part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Lots of good friendly people to work with. Comfortable work, salary, and sick time even for part time employees. Middle management is excellent.

    Cons

Small department sizes can lead to an oversized workload at times. Lengthy vetting process when hiring, and if a bad apple gets past the probationary period, it's extremely difficult to remove them (company policy is slow about firing).

I have been working at Church Pension Group (More than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits - some really nice co-workers and staff

    Cons

Talk about working in an organization with lots of office politics. Serious micromanagement, managers who don't share information with others who need to know and are not team players, many managers who lack the skills necessary to be a good manager, organization only hires those who fit in a neat box, totally unrealistic work/job expectations for many of the staff, lots of game playing/ political maneuvering and posturing.

    Advice to Management

Offer management and skills training, stop the micromanagement and subtle bullying, be realistic in job expectations and allow people to do their jobs without being constantly monitored and watched, stop the negative power/authority mindset as well as competition/conflict between many of the departments and managers
