I have been working at Churchill Downs full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Friendly, welcoming work environment. The company shows stable growth and a lot of prestige comes with the job. Always a “ladder” to climb somewhere within the company.

    Cons

Fast paced with always a lot on the line. Not a lot of room for mistakes. Work environment change happens almost all of the time across all of their properties, sometimes more than once a year If you’re not really adaptable then this company may not be for you.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

I have been working at Churchill Downs full-time

    Pros

Worked with a lot of good people outside of management.

    Cons

Management is corrupt, routinely violates anti-discrimination laws and then attempts to buy the silence of victims. Management bring in new employees from their past jobs and promote them rapidly while other staff are left to rot in the same position for years. If you aren't a member of the club, there is no advancement here. Annual raises barely compensate for increase in cost of living year-to-year. Management will pretend to be your friend and then "help" you by stabbing you in the back. Some managers like to fire people at Christmas time for kicks.

    Advice to Management

    Resign

I worked at Churchill Downs full-time

    Pros

If you enjoy horse racing or are interested in simple online games, you may find this company interesting

    Cons

Management has no idea how to run a technology organization. More interested in irrelevant metrics than what actually gets done and the quality of the work. Have been at meetings where teams have been yelled at because their metrics charts didn't look good even though they got all the work done on time.

Benefits, pay, etc. are subpar compared to market.
